Regrann from @matt_cama - Feeling heartbroken after seeing what I saw tonight at the slaughterhouse (see my instagram highlights labeled 'The Truth' if you haven't seen it yet).
But this mumma and her little baby made my soul happy & brightened the mood before we left.
Even though we couldn't do anything to save her, at least her last hour on earth was full of love, compassion and kindness from us.
We can do better.
We can thrive without animal 'products'.
We can live from our heart and lead with compassion.
If you want to be on the side of peace instead of cruelty you can go to www.challenge22.com and learn how to transition to veganism, be provided with healthy and tasty vegan recipes and have any questions answered. 📷: @fallowfawn #LoveAllLivingThings#GoVegan

In the ability to suffer we are the same!
When allowed to live out their natural lives, pigs live for an average of 10-15 years, but factory farmed pigs are sent to slaughter after just six months of life. In order to get the terrified pigs onto the trucks bound for the slaughterhouse, workers may beat them on their sensitive noses and backs or stick electric prods into their rectums.
Crammed into 18-wheelers, pigs struggle to get air and are usually given no food or water for the entire journey (often hundreds of miles). They suffer from temperature extremes and are forced to inhale ammonia fumes and diesel exhaust. A former pig transporter reported that pigs are “packed in so tight, their guts actually pop out their butts—a little softball of guts actually comes out.” According to a 2006 industry report, more than 1 million pigs die each year from the horrors of transport alone. Another industry report notes that, in some transport loads, as many as 10 percent of pigs are “downers,” animals who are so ill or injured that they are unable to stand and walk on their own. These sick and injured pigs will be kicked, struck with electric prods, and finally dragged off the trucks to their deaths.

🔥Bearing witness to sentient individuals in 33C/94F heat being broiled alive, confined inside metal boxes driven for up to 36 hours without food or water to their unjust violent deaths. -
▪️Do not support ALL animal exploitation.
🔹Do not support injustice.

WOULD YOU TRADE PLACES WITH THEM?
THEIR PLEAS FOR MERCY ARE IGNORED. Billions of animals suffer for meat, milk and eggs. They are cruelly confined, mutilated, burned, condemned to a life of degradation, #loneliness , #pain , and #terror of slaughter. Most spend their lives unable to turn around or spread their wings. Most never see the #sun . Most will never leave their cages except to die.
ALL PLEAD FOR LIFE AND FREEDOM IN LANGUAGE THAT REQUIRES NO TRANSLATION. They bang their heads against their cages, they bite the metal bars till their mouths bleed, they hurt themselves trying to find a way out, they moan their pain and despair, they go insane. Animals awaiting slaughter cry out loud, pant frantically, shake uncontrollably, lose control of their bowels, collapse into their own vomit, try to scale walls in their desperate attempt to escape. Some try to protect their young with their own bodies.
Chickens can count. Pigs are smarter than poodles. Cows form close relationships. Turkeys know one another by their voices, and sheep recognize faces - of other sheep, and of people. These animals that's some call "food" are far from lacking thoughts and feelings. They demonstrate sophisticated problem-solving abilities, possess rich social lives, and feel a wide variety of emotions. .
In other words, they're much like humans in countless ways. And, like us, they suffer physical pain and mental anguish.
The only difference between "farmed" animals and your family #pets (#dogs , #cats ect.)is your perception. Will you be one less person harming the animals? Human beings do not need to consume animals in order to survive, actually it's quite the opposite you can thrive on a plant-based diet! So why would you participate in this system of oppression, violence, pain, suffering, and death?
Embrace veganism! 🌱

🔥You can either choose to look away from the truth and unfollow me or you can choose to watch this and make a change. This is real, this is the face of your bacon. These are the souls that we take by the millions every day just for tastebuds. Not for health, not for protein, but for taste.. you can think vegans are crazy all you want and call me names but that will never stop me. The animals need our help and this right here is exactly why we do this. Look in this individuals eyes. They are calling for help... we were able to show them a few moments of compassion and love which he or she has never felt before.
I know we weren’t able to save this particular soul but the idea of what we do is to give that moment of love and compassion to the individuals we can not save and to capture photos of them to hopefully open peoples eyes to the truth. Every day people tell me that they have gone vegan or are trying and that gives me so much hope. ... one day this will end, one day the world will be vegan.. be the change you want to see in the world 🌎
Open your heart.. open your eyes and go vegan, for the animals, for the planet, and for our bodies💚
