“the sense of having walked from far inside yourself
out into revelation, to have risked yourself
for something that seemed to stand both inside you
and far beyond, that called you back
to only road in the end you could follow, walking
as you did, in your rags of love and speaking in the voice
that by night became a prayer for safe arrival.” ~David Whyte “Santiago” .
New blog post from last week: Yoga & Pregnancy. Link in IG bio!
Update: things change, especially during pregnancy. I will be taking the rest of this week off as we await this little yogis arrival. I need to honor my body during this homestretch. I am so grateful I was able to teach as long as I did! Thank you to all the radiant, gracious yogis and managers who helped cover my classes so I can embark on this journey called “motherhood”. @yogasquadlincolnpark @mcfetridgeyoga @chicagoathleticclubs @coconutyogachicago
“...and you were
more marvelous in your simple wish to find a way
than all the gilded roofs of any destination you could reach.” ~David Whyte
Luna’s simple wish is to always play fetch. My simple wish this week is to have faith in my internal, eternal light during these darkening days of late fall. Yoga this week of Diwali (a beautiful Hindu festival about light and prosperity!) will include light meditations, new moon intention setting and heart openers. #latergram from a sunnier day under a beautifully light filled, gilded tree at the park. @coconutyogachicago @yogasquadlincolnpark @mcfetridgeyoga @chicagoathleticclubs
“Starting here, what do you want to remember?
How sunlight creeps along a shining floor?
What scent of old wood hovers, what softened sound from outside fills the air?
Will you ever bring a better gift for the world
than breathing respect that you carry
where ever you go right now?” ~William Stafford .
Cultivating a sense of patience this week amidst the continually changing season and Full Hunter Moon while staying present with each moment. How can I spend each day, each moment like it’s a gift? Join me on the mat to flow with the questions and breathe in the answers. Today @yogasquadlincolnpark 5:15pm Flow and 6pm Vinyasa. Tomorrow @coconutyogachicago 6pm Flow Slow. Find me the rest of the week at my normal spots: @mcfetridgeyoga @chicagoathleticclubs
“Everything needs it: bone, muscle, and even,
while it calls the earth its home, the soul.” ~Mary Oliver
I am trying to stay GROUNDED this week as vata (air/ether) season is upon us... feel it in the wind, the dry air and the unstable autumn weather. Three more chances to practice with me this week: -SUB ALERT tonight, 10/18 at 6:45-8pm Vinyasa @chicagoathleticclubs #LSAC -Friday 10/19 12pm Happy Hour @coconutyogachicago and 5:30pm Multilevel Yoga at #WPAC#chicagoathleticclubs .
“Before you know what kindness really is
you must lose things,
feel the future dissolve in a moment
like salt in a weakened broth. “~ Naomi Shihab Nye Ahh autumn leaves and a New Moon! I am focusing on new beginnings, losing my grip on what no longer is serving me and fostering stronger relationships particularly treating myself with more kindness as I continue to change and shed in this gorgeous season. Join me on the mat to find balance internally and externally this week at @yogasquadlincolnpark @coconutyogachicago @mcfetridgesportscenter @chicagoathleticclubs #LSAC#LVAC and #WPAC#yoga#yogaeverywhere#yogaeveryday#yogainchicago#newmoon#autumnleaves#changes#newbeginnings#newrelationships#kindness#poetry
“So let us pick up the stones over which we stumble, friends, and build altars. Let us listen to the sound of breath in our bodies. Let us listen to the sounds of our own voices, of our own names, of our own fears.” ~Padraig O Tauma

“See every turning day,
how each season makes a child of you again,
wants you to become a seeker of birdsong and rainfall...” -David Whyte

What have you simply taken the time to notice today? “Dear, these are the things that count.” #yoga#yogaeverywhere#yogaeveryday#latesummer#flowers#harvestseason#newmoon#ellawheelerwilcox#poetry
“Now, dear, it isn’t the bold things,
Great deeds of valor and might,
That count the most in summing up of life at the end of the day.
But it is the doing of old things,
Small acts that are just and right;
And doing them over and over again, no matter what others say:
In smiling at fate, when you want to cry, and in keeping at work when you want to play—
Dear, those are the things that count.” ~ Ella Wheeler Wilcox
In my classes this week we are getting back to the basics: simple, sweet and certain. Sometimes, it’s these small acts that count the most on and off the mat.

Happy Monday! Happy Full Moon! New blog post from the weekend. Link in bio. I love listening to @onbeing podcasts this summer... they inspire me to unplug, look away from my screen and pay more attention to what is happening around me. Yoga is a way to condition and practice a simple, profound awareness of the present moment. Join me this week on the mat: class will be less about the pose and more about the how and why. We will be focusing on our breath, movement and tapping into watery, lunar aspect of our physical body. Join me at @yogasixchicago @coconutyogachicago @mcfetridgeyoga @chicagoathleticclubs #LSAC , #LVAC and #WPAC AND a special appearance CAC Bucktown Athletic Club on Thursday 🌻
