“God’s goal is not to make sure you’re happy. No matter how hard it is for you to believe this, it’s time to do so. Life is not about your being comfortable and happy and successful and pain free. It is about becoming the man or woman God has called you to be. Life is not about you! It’s about God.” ~ Charles R. Swindoll, Paul: A Man of Grace and Grit “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 3:14 (KJV)
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23 KJV
Some Christian knowledge is a must so here’s this absolutely epic quote for you to go with tonight’s sunset. “Life isn't about having, it's about being. You could surround yourself with all that money can buy, and you'd still be as miserable as a human can be. I know people with perfect bodies who don't have half the happiness I've found. On my journeys I've seen more joy in the slums of Mumbai and the orphanages of Africa than in wealthy gated communities and on sprawling estates worth millions. Why is that? You'll find contentment when your talents and passion are completely engaged, in full force. Recognise instant self-gratification for what it is. Resist the temptation to grab for material objects like the perfect house, the coolest clothes or the hottest car. The if I just had X, I would be happy syndrome is a mass delusion. When you look for happiness in mere objects, they are never enough. Look around. Look within.” ~ Nick Vujicic
How about this view from the other night? Thunderstorms in the area at sunset and some Saharan Desert dust gave us quite the colors! A lot of photos posted from this night drew some skeptics, but the colors truly were this vibrant.
Saharan Dust and light rain combined to give us a striking sunset today! If you live here, I’m sure you noticed the milky look to the air. That is dust that’s traveled thousands of miles from Africa and has engulfed most of the Caribbean and now Florida.
