Went out walking with meditative intent, a full prayer for our country and the Earth. Heard many wind chimes as I went by. Ended up circumambulating this pair of bald eagles on the lake. One mature, one younger. 🦅 🎶🙏🎶 🦅
Mom used to tell us a story she made up about an elephant sneaking out of the zoo to come and play with us. She doesn’t remember this, but Sis remembers. No idea when I painted this except it was a very long time ago, thinking about children’s books; being inspired by Etienne Delessert. The large stone I’m working on is not an elephant. Nonetheless there is a kinship.
Finally got here. @still_museum
The unglamorous afternoon’s work: laying in scrap-stone mass under a new landing into the cellar. This will shore up the unfortunate low spot down there, which has been right at the place bearing the most load of this collage of a hundred-year-old dwelling.
Banana leaf experiments. Guests in 1/2 hr. Wish me luck!
bucking up the knotty bits
Peach looking snow leopardly. Back to work with you soon, Honorable Beast!
finishing up couple of chilly days’ work. keep thinking maybe I can lessen my fear & loathing of sewing.
Loveland errands, stopped on this chilly day to visit this family stone called Holds Water, touch their satin shoulders and weathered cheek. Hands thawing out 10 miles down the road. Sweetheart.
moon over the studio in lights season
Stories and songs into the longest night
Here’s to the strengthening of light in our world. Happy Solstice!
Show closed today. Some of the pieces came home to me, some to new homes. It’s nice having them around. If you were dreaming about one of them, let’s talk.
Something perfect about this moment between cleaning up after tea w/artists & setting up to work this afternoon.
