My horse's feet are as swift as rolling thunder, He carries me away from all my fears, And when the world threatens to fall asunder, His mane is there to wipe away my tears. - Bonnie Lewis Happy National Day of the Horse! I don’t know what I’d do without all my favorite Equines.

I grew up in Colorado, and have lived and worked in various places around the state - cities, deep woods, on the plains. But this place, right here, will always feel like home. It’s filled with childhood memories of camping and listening to the elk, it was my getaway destination when my college courses felt overwhelming and my horses needed a day off, and for the past several years it has been home to one of my all-time favorite coffee shops. (I’m always down for a good mocha). But more than anything, its views have always provided me with a sense of peace and serenity.
There’s always one who refuses to face the camera.
Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be. - Eleanor Roosevelt
We made a quick trip to Iowa to celebrate my grandma’s 103rd (!!!) Birthday and check on the farm. Most trips back never feel quite long enough, but I gotta say, this time the freezing drizzle made it a little easier to head home.
