AHhh... Lunch at our local market cafe'. It's called the BEC burger (bacon, egg, cheese) and of course I got it as a double, naked and without all the special sauce they usually add. The chef had to come make sure I wasn't still hungry,  ha! 4 months carnivore with no plans to change course. I'll keep in occasional eggs and hard cheese...and maybe heavy whipping cream with a rare keto treat my daughter makes. Coffee is still on the morning menu about 5 times a week. All is great with no cravings, perfect body weight, super energy, no aches, no pains, no digestive issues, no bloat...just feeling like I'm in my late 20s. Can't really complain like I could 2 years ago at this time where I was not like this to say the least. As a doctor of physical therapy (Osteopractor) in constant search of a better way to treat my patients, I had to eventually apply this to myself. Now I'm a better dad, husband, and practitioner. I do practice what I preach, and I remain committed to helping others simply learn the truth about diet and it's impact on health and fitness. Thank you for the follow! Ribeye coming out of the air fryer. Quick, tasty and convenient. The problem solving theme of this week has been overcoming weight loss plateaus - stalls in progress with keto dieters. It ALWAYS comes down to eating too much. And yes there are hormonal influences, issues with eating times, sleep, and metabolism issues etc. But in the end, it's taking in more than your body needs. The rest goes to storage. The energy equation continues to rule whether you're carnivore, keto, paleo, vegan or whatever. Yes, too many carbs remain the enemy and cause more problems than not. And no matter what kind of sweetener you use, anything sweet tends to result in cravings. We can trick our bodies, tweak our macro %'s, and more, but in the end, if your intake exceeds your metabolic needs, then you will gain. Steady state cardio can be your worst enemy in many cases btw.

However, weight/fat loss is super easy. Everyone's health status is different as well as their beliefs with the latter being the most difficult to deal with. Health status simply dictates response time. The more health issues you have the slower the response generally. .
The most successful sustainable approaches seem to land on eating real food with mostly healthy fats and proteins  in time restricted periods and limited carbs...no sugar. Sounds like keto 😉. .
As you know, my personal choice is a carnivore woe...not just for weight loss, for health and vitality. .

However, we really don't need this or other studies to tell us what we already know. Fiber can mess you up pretty good, and we really don't need it. The OG of all foods. This return to ancestral nutrition is really turning the health, pharmaceutical, fitness, and nutrition industries on their respective heads. Can optimum human health be as simple as just respecting our genetic code and returning to eating animal based protein and fat? Metformin, Insulin, Lipitor, Angiotensin, Xifaxan, allopurinol, and prednisone were all meds I saw either eliminated or reduced this week. It's a beautiful thing to see people taking control of their health by taking control of their diet. Food does control everything basically. As Hippocrates said, "Let food be the medicine and medicine be thy food." The farther away you move from normal human food, the more health issues you will have - that's a given, and it's really common sense, albeit forgotten. I get the question "Do you think keto or carnivore will help x y z?" you name it...First  of all, these ways of eating are not allopathic treatments, i.e. for a particular problem or symptom. They are ways to restore optimal physiology. It's a great way to allow your body to repair and recover as it's designed. The question should actually be, can your body recover and repair it's current problems if you just give it a chance? Day in and day out there are reports of type 2 Diabetes, endocrine, digestive, cancer, cardiovascular, autoimmune, and chronic pain problems resolving by returning to a way of eating practiced before these problems existed. Division 1 University nutrition education... My son is having to go against most of what he has learned in our household and in my practice. He said that his professor is a 50 something year old ripped female  vegetarian that is obviously highly carb tolerant, and she preaches the .gov party line. Folks, just because you are ripped does not mean that you are healthy . When you eliminate essential nutrition that is a staple of our human development (animal fat and protein), you will struggle vs those who don't eliminate. The only good thing I see in the various vegan and vegetarian approaches is elimination of most processed foods. Not always though...gummy bears are vegan 😉. To each his own, but to propagate outdated nutritional info and teach it as truth needs to be addressed. .

You just don't get that same feeling when you cut open a fruit or vegetable. There's something deeply embedded in our DNA that loves meat ... and animal based fat and protein from day one on earth. It starts with mother's milk for most. Our bodies love this food. Being in ketosis and being fueled by ketones is such a clean and clear way to operate. Being zero carb and training as a fat adapted human is just awesome. Yes, I know all the arguments about decreased performance (only certain aspects) on ketogenic diet, and they just don't hold up. I have had significant strength gains in 3 weeks since I started training regularly again. No hitting the proverbial wall and no gassing out. Great recovery times. No joint pains.  I'm doing about 30 min, 4-5 days, supersets and compound movements (rings, dumbbells, pull up bar, weighted vest), and one hiit session (maybe)🤣...I know a little bit about metabolic pathways and energy systems😉 as I've helped over 6000 people return to their sport or activity they love. Strength training principles apply in physical therapy science, and you'd be surprised at how many PTs just don't apply these principles and just "work a job." Your body will adapt to the forces you apply to it...or the lack of. Diet will fuel your success in health. It comes first. Exercise will improve your fitness and can augment your health but not if you're on a bad diet. Peace✌.

I guess to me it's common sense. Keep following the advice of all the experts that led us to this point where chronic disease and obesity are now the norm, or do the opposite! I mean really! You don't need science to tell you that our dietary guidelines as put forth by the USDA, AHA, ADA, AMA, and more aren't working, and never have! Look around. Then go look at pics and stats from the 70s, 60s, 50s, 40s...its astounding how far we've moved away from sensible human practices. Meat, butter and lard were staples and Heart attacks, cancer, diabetes, and obesity weren't part of our lives...they are now. The words "autoimmune disease" weren't known, but now they are table talk. Bad science and bully politics helped us get to this point. Grains, vegetable oils, and sugar became the staples.  Now the plant folks like back in the day of Kellogg are saying they have the answer...more plants. Yep. Makes no sense. It's when plant products and artificial foods hit the market that things went south. Animal products were vilified and we were educated wrongly. Still are! Good science is creeping its way in and validating what I'm saying...but why wait. Its common sense. So let's take a deep breath, get real, and make a good decision to eat real food including meat. Know that our current way of measuring health is flawed. We can measure disease like no other! Our doctorate trained pros, including me, are not trained in prevention using ancestral nutrition. We're trained in diagnosis and treatment of pathology. Some of us have seen and accepted the light...the truth. Others contine to tow the party line. I'm advocating for a return to what was working before we mucked it all up. ✌😁🍖

My friends at Market Cafe @johnnywooten know that I'm all about steak...and I do love lump crab, but it's a rare commodity around here. So I get a call tonight from Laura as I'm about to eat leftover chicken while watching all my teams lose (jees!)..."I know you probably have dinner plans and are watching the games, but we have lump crab tonight." 15 minutes later, this chunk of a filet cooked in butter topped with lump crab was on my table😁. Eat real food, like meat. It's good for you. If meat or other animal parts/food are not available, if you're not a very good hunter😉, or you have unusual outdated beliefs about meat or eating animal based foods😂😂, then ok, you can sure down some veggies, fruits, nuts, roots, bark, gummy bears, legumes, and whatever else you can muster up that is edible. It's ok, your body can handle it. You will survive. Eat real food, like meat. It's good for you. If meat or other animal parts/food are not available, if you're not a very good hunter😉, or you have unusual outdated beliefs about meat or eating animal based foods😂😂, then ok, you can sure down some veggies, fruits, nuts, roots, bark, gummy bears, legumes, and whatever else you can muster up that is edible. It's ok, your body can handle it. You will survive. I see daily resolution of digestive issues, joint problems, chronic pain issues, autoimmune problems, type 2 diabetes, obesity and even allergies (mine included)...anything having to do with inflammation, I'm treating or monitoring. However, it's these stories that I love. And it reminds me of how amazing our bodies are and the healing processes that are in place as long as we get out of the way. For years I've addressed chronic inflammation related issues by removing grains and nightshades. I've never seen real meat cause a problem. The carnivore approach with elimination of all plants is the ultimate anti-inflammatory diet. The problematic foods are always involving grains, sugar, vegetable/seed oils, vegetation, hydrogenated oils, trans fats, and processed foods. It's almost common sense to simply eliminate those things when addressing a health issue. The folks trying to avoid meat and animal based foods are always trying to mimic these very foods with artificial and plant-based versions never having been found in nature before. Of course, this is ridiculous.  Just eat real food, namely meat, and you will thrive. If you're not thriving, eliminate the possible aggravating factors...all except meat, hence the carnivore diet is born. This isn't a fad, it's just a forgotten part of our ancestral diet. #meatheals.

Sent to me by my son who is a kinesiology major at MSU...Yep, according to our institutions of higher learning (funded by your taxes in this case), all you young keto and carnivore folks are at risk because of your high fat and low fiber woe! So keto and carnivore eating methods are lumped in with other risk behaviors such as alcohol and drug use,  sedentary lifestyle, and violent behavior! This is perfect brainwashing strategy. With glaring evidence on our side showing the amazing health benefits keto and the thousands of empirical carnivore reports of health restoration from "uncurable" chronic disease...we have a continued massive problem of poorly educated smart people coming into the marketplace with bad data. Educated via dogma vs critical thinking skills. Beliefs are being pushed into students without regard for the truth..or encouraging the seeking of the truth. Lol...meat, a little water, turn it on slow, cook 10+ hours...magic melt in your mouth meat with a broth that's like au jus. It's a family hit. We're doing it again this week. .

When eating out locally and also partaking in the "salad bar" ha! 28 day aged filet and grilled shrimp. Swipe for the "salad"... I did get a few questions from the curious side of the family. With my wife ever so bored with my speaking about diet, I simply said I'm in a ham and cheese mood 🤣. No one can argue with my results as they've seen me change over the last year and a half. Most are shocked when they see that I really don't diet or restrict calories. I simply eat meat for the most part. I do enjoy challenging people's fixed ideas and beliefs. But one thing is certain, nutrition ranks up there with politics and religion in terms of dinner conversation avoidance. Each to his own. Let all enjoy their dinner without opinion and all will be fine. Now after dinner, it's game on😉...Time to dispel the harmful myths and propaganda that are killing us slowly and creeping their way into our governing bodies. Time to push the truth into the limelight: 1. Animal based nutrition trumps plant based. 2. Animal fats and proteins are essential, carbs/veggies/fruits/nuts/roots/legumes are NOT. 3.
