“You can't keep the ground from shaking, no matter how hard you try. You can't keep the sunsets from fading. You gotta treat your life like you're jumping off a rope swing, baby cause the whole thing's really just a shot in the dark. You gotta love like there's no such thing as a broken heart.” - Old Dominion. #alwaysthankful#mycrew 💕💙 📸 @jamee_edwardsphotography
True story: I used to eat Taco Bell 5+ times a week. Ask anyone that knew me in college for confirmation.
I’d order a bean burrito and sometimes add the Mexican pizza with a substitute of beans (vegetarian taco bell😜). Then I’d order my extra large Mountain Dew Baja Blast - that’s the BLUE Mountain Dew for anyone that wasn’t aware. ALL FOR LESS THAN $5.00!
Honestly, it tasted so good but I’d feel like crap afterward. My stomach would hurt and I’d be SO bloated that. I couldn’t even button my pants some days.
I just didn’t know better. I mean, I did to some extent but it was cheap and delicious so I kept going back.
I’ve eaten Taco Bell ONCE in the last 5 years and that was only because I was on a road trip and there was no other food for hours. 🤣 I simply just DON’T crave it anymore. .
Once I started learning about the nutritional value of foods and why it’s important to balance your food groups (carbs, fruits, veggies, fats, protein) - I’ve never looked back! I crave foods that work for me now and provide my body with the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it needs. Foods that give me energy and are easy to digest! I’m not perfect ( I still crave Cheese enchiladas and ice cream and treat myself often 🤣) but I keep a healthy balance MOST DAYS!
Old habits die hard BUT I am living proof that you can change and so can your CRAVINGS! I may be 15 pounds lighter than I was back in my Taco Bell days, but more importantly I FEEL SO MUCH Better! I ain’t ever going back. 😝
Do you have old habits that are hindering your success? Holding you back from getting the results you want?
My Skinny Jeans Challenge is beginning next Monday and I still have 3 spots left! Let me help you get UNSTUCK and turn those old habits into positive ones! Send me a DM with “more info” or comment below if you’d like more details! .
We had such a great family weekend with our little munchkin! Last year we were strolling her around the pumpkin patch and there wasn’t a lot to do for a young baby. This year we basically CHASED her as she ran from the hay maze to the petting zoo to the pumpkin patch. *Notice how she’s not too thrilled about sitting still for a picture 🤣* Oh what a difference a year makes! It just keeps getting better. 💕 #pumpkinpatch#pumpkinseason#20months#activetoddler
“We like to think that these great philanthropic moments are the ones that leave impact or will make the huge difference in the world, but it’s really what you do everyday. It’s how you use your life to be a light to somebody else’s. And how you use your work as an expression of your own art, whatever that is.” - Oprah.
I will never feel ashamed for being a “coach” or inviting people to join me in this journey because every day I get to use my life to be a light to someone else’s and I think it’s pretty special. ⭐️ ✨#SHINEBRIGHT#bethelight
Some days you have fresh lipgloss and a cute pair of shoes on! And other days you roll out of the house with unwashed hair to a point that dry shampoo can’t fix and cat hair all over your shirt. Life of a working mama, never know what you’re going to get! 🤣🤷♀️. #workingmom#wednesday#wednesdaywisdom
That bump was BIG tho y’all. The picture on the left was taken just days before I went into labor and the one on the right is recent. Honestly I wondered if I’d ever look or feel the same after having an 8+ pound baby! But with patience + consistency in exercising 25-30 minutes daily (starting at 6 weeks pp) from home and eating the right amount of whole, healthy foods for my body, I feel just as amazing now as I did before! Sharing how I got results TWICE (before and after pregnancy) in my stories, and how I can help you TOO. 🙌 -#transformationtuesday
Sometimes it’s easy to just go through the motions, but today I’m reflecting back and appreciating how far I’ve come.
I used to be the girl who didn’t play team sports because I was scared of the ball. I ran cross country my junior and senior year of high school and only ONCE ran a Varsity race. I signed up for the snowboard team my senior year and FACEPLANTED my first competition.
I clearly was not super athletic or graceful, and when I signed up to be a health coach, people questioned me.
Like “YOU, really?”
But today I’m grateful that I’m in the best shape of my life in my 30s. I carried a healthy baby to full term and exercised my way throughout my pregnancy. People now come to little ol ME for health and fitness advice. People trust in me to hold them accountable to their goals! .
I’ve come a long way from that non athletic, non-sport playing, taco-bell eating (on the daily!) girl. So let this be a reminder that you don’t currently have to be active, athletic, or know ANYTHING about health and fitness to START. The important thing is just that you start. .
5.5 years I ago I did my first INSANITY workout after buying the program off of an infomercial! That first week I could only get through 10 minutes of each workout (the warmup!!), but slowly I gained strength and pushed further. I lost 20 pounds and got in the best shape of my life - both physically and mentally! I’ve done every program that’s been released since then! It’s STILL so surreal to me to that I now SHARE these programs for a living and get to do LIVE workouts with the celebrity trainers that developed them and changed the direction of my life! #thankful#fullcircle
First night in Las Vegas was a success! Yes, it’s 8:30 and I’m already in my room ready for bed! I have to save up my energy for the next few days! 🤣 Of course I’m excited about all the fun activities, but MOSTLY I’m excited to learn and grow as a coach. The daytime workshops are my favorite part of the event! I truly believe that if you don’t continue to seek new knowledge, take risks, and try new strategies... you get complacent in your business. That’s why you will always see me at these events SOAKING it all up. While I am nobody special — just a regular gal, I do feel like It’s such a privilege to even be invited to this Leadership Retreat and be surrounded by all these TOP coaches, so I will be taking full advantage of it! Goodnight xo
Considering it’s the LAST quarter of the year, I decided to reflect back on my yearly goals I made in January. To be honest, they were some hefty goals and I’m not that close to hitting them. BUT instead of letting that frustrate me and give up all together, I decided to STEP UP. Because you know what.. if I give up, I’ll have to restart in January anyway, but if I keep going I’ll be THAT much closer. And who cares if I STILL don’t hit them by December? Maybe I’ll hit them a little late in January - that’d still be pretty cool. Either way, I’m leaning into the HUSTLE this quarter and intend on making the last 90 days the BEST 90 days! That said, for any of you that have some HEALTH GOALS you’re still wanting to hit this year, I will be kicking off a FREE 5 day “CLEAN up your EATS” challenge. Essentially we will be clearing out the crap and eating whole, fresh foods for 5 days to RESET and detoxify! If you feel like you could benefit from this, comment below with “I’m interested.” I’ll send you info and the link to join! #lastquarter#hustlegame#bestof2018 @jamee_edwardsphotography
I’ve been thinking A LOT about a meal delivery service recently. I don’t mind cooking but I do like the thought of easily whipping together a healthy meal without much thought or planning, even if only for a few nights a week. I found this service that is VEGAN and you can cook all the meals in 10 minutes or less — my kind of cooking. Anyway I tried two of the meals today and they were surprisingly REALLY good, and Maddi liked them too. 🙌 However I think I want to test out a few other services before I decide if I want to continue or not and with who! Have you tried any meal services before and if so, which one and did you like it? #mealdelivery#mealdeliveryservice#busymama
Took the weekend off social media because why not?! 😛 Y’all there was a point where I felt like I needed to be on it and active 7 days per week for my business! But then I realized, wait, that goes against the exact reasons I started in the first place (more freedom, more flexibility!) because it was cutting into my family time on the weekends and I felt like I needed to capture every moment instead of just put my phone away and be present. WELL... I took the weekend OFF of it and GUESS WHAT, my business didn’t fall apart! Haha! 🙌 Social media is an amazing, free(!), and very important tool for business BUT it never shuts off. There’s always MORE you can do or share! But as a business owner, I decided to set boundaries and business hours so that it better aligns with my vision! And well, because #imtheboss and I can! 🤣 Does that mean I’ll shut it off every weekend? No but it will be on my terms! But the truth is, I also did this to show and encourage my team to do the same! I’m always growing in my leadership skills and I want to show my girls that YOU make this business EXACTLY what you want it to! You decide your hours, your boundaries, when and where you’ll work and who you work with! And you can not compare your business to someone else’s because each and every person has their own goals and vision so you have to do figure out what works for YOU! 💕😊 I’m so so so grateful for my social media community, love sharing my life here, meeting so many other positive women, and I will continue to fight and show women that your dream career is POSSIBLE! And it’s possible on your TERMS too! #girlboss#momboss#socialmedia @jamee_edwardsphotography
5 Things I’m Grateful for from this Past Week: 1) Getting to stay in our pink💕 PJs this morning and relax! Being my own boss, I decided Friday’s are now 100% #mommyandme days! 2) Getting my workouts done first thing in the morning - felt so good and productive to get back to early sweat sessions! 3) Grateful for the group of girls I have in my challenge group right now. These girls are SO sweet and they’re really motivating me! 4) Celebrating my husband’s birthday together as a family, yay for another year! 5) And lastly I’m thankful for the Pizza Hut I just ordered and devoured. #balance ! Alrighty I’m signing out for the weekend to spend time with my family! See you all on Monday morning. Xoxo ☺️👍🙌 #pizzaislife#friyay#grateful
Why is it that so many women feel ashamed or guilty for wanting to make more money? It’s as if that means you’re a bad person or “stuffy.” I will say it over and over again... money is NOT a bad thing and it’s okay to DREAM BIG. I have never wanted to earn more money so I could buy the fancy cars, wear the designer purses, or “keep up with the Joneses.” That ain’t my style. BUT I believe that it CAN provide your family more freedom to make choices: better healthcare choices, better food choices (fresh, organic produce!), education, activities, etc. I also believe that it can provide more enriching life experiences like ability to travel and see different cultures and lifestyles! But most importantly, it can be used for GOOD. Many research projects, nonprofits, and local charities that are saving people’s lives or fighting for better education for our communities run off of donations! .... Or maybe you just want to buy that cute dress that’s going to make you feel like a million bucks 🙌 because when you feel good, YOU DO GOOD! Whatever your reasons are, don’t be ashamed to dream BIG about wanting to make an impact on your family and other’s lives! 🙌💃 #businesstip#biztip#moneymaker @jamee_edwardsphotography
So #basic BUT am I the only person who doesn’t love pumpkin spice THAT much? I do this every year. I buy my first and last #PSL of the season because as it turns it, a year later, I’m still just not that into it. Oh and I don’t really decorate for fall either because burnt orange and red don’t go well my decor. 🍂🍁I feel like I can already hear the gasping ... 😵🙊🙀 Anyone else? #pumkinspice#falldecor
