I'm looking for opinions!! And I need another weekend, so if you can provide either I would be grateful. I was tired yesterday and didn't arrange the quilt as I had planned to. Today I took the blocks down and organized them by the warm colors, and feel closer to ready to put it together. What layout option speaks to you? #scrappytriparoundtheworld#triparoundtheworld#modernquilting
I got a nice surprise today! My four entries into the Sonoma County Fair all got ribbons. Thanks @kitchkouture for the photos! The red quilt with white stars and a third place is a group charity quilt by the North Bay Modern Quilt Group. I did the quilting. (@nicolepacheco707 @rgeorgevits @wardstorms and I don't know if I have instagram names for the rest of you, sorry if I'm blanking on someone. Let me know.)
I had such fun today exploring strings in a class with @fern_royce and fellow Moonlight Quilters! I'm not usually good about using my scraps (I'm better at making them) but today was liberating and I enjoyed revisiting the stories behind each scrap.
I'm SO PROUD of my mom right now! Check out the center of her first quilt! I've been teaching her step by step since October, intermittently because we live far apart, and today she sewed the rows together! We're planning a couple of borders next! This is her original design too! #newquilter#teachingisfun
I'm finally starting to decorate my new office, after a month at my new job. I still have two more walls to do, but I'll need some more quilts for that! Now that I'm working all the time again, it's hard to make time to quit.
In progress mini quilt for a retirement gift. "Good memories and good wishes!" Each fabric represents a memory or a wish for her future, and of course I arranged it as a trip around the world. I'm down to the wire and hope to finish tomorrow. #scrappytriparoundtheworld
One reason I haven't put many quilting progress shots up lately is that I've been working on some clothes. I finally feel like this jacket is coming together after class today! I couldn't resist adding some detail on the back seam. It relates to the lining and to the last dress I made with flying geese in the waistband. #burdastyle#srjcfashionstudiesprogram
