Life Update! 🌟 Over a month ago, I started a Yoga Teacher Training at Pure Yoga in Ottawa! And so far, I have been feeling so nourished from this entire experience 💛 I feel so grateful for all of the new friendships I’ve begun to cultivate, and so grateful for the opportunity to learn from amazing teachers! .
Two years ago, I never would have imagined myself where I’m at now. I’ve made great strides in personal growth and development: I’ve gotten to know myself better, take better care of myself, and I’ve realized that I get to create the life I want rather than letting others/society dictate how my life should be. My self-help journey has only begun, yet I already feel so much more connected to my authentic self. .
Yoga has played a tremendous role in this journey, enabling me to explore new facets of myself; so I’m super excited for all of the opportunities to learn during this training. But most importantly, I’m looking forward to eventually teach yoga and its philosophy in order to inspire others to find their own inner light! 💡💛🧘♂️ .
P.S. This pose is called Compass Pose and it’s one of my favourite poses 😄. Photo creds to @marieevedorval 📷
I’ve recently been working on expressing more gratitude in my life 💛☀️ Taking the time to appreciate more of the positive experiences rather than focusing on the less positive ones. It can be really easy to get lost in our daily hustle and lose sight of all the abundance in our lives. But despite dealing with different challenges every day, we can always find something to be grateful for.
In the last few days I’ve been feeling especially grateful for living in a city I love and constantly being surrounded by people who love and support me 💛
Also super grateful for @marieevedorval who always captures extra cute pictures of me and takes me out for vegan ice-cream at La Cigale 😋🍦💕
Aaayyy 😎 I got a Bachelor of Science!!! These last four years have been such a blessing; I’ve created such incredible memories and friendships and I feel so grateful for this entire experience. So huge shoutout to everyone who made these last four years the absolute best!! 💛
Now onto the next degree! 😅🎓

It’s barely been a week since I left Ottawa to travel Hawaii on my own and I’ve already learned so much from this experience. I’ve met such incredible people and dove into some really deep conversations that have helped me see my values and goals in a different light!
A year ago I would have never imagined myself where I am today. Only one year and I can already see that I’ve grown so much as a person. This past year has been an incredible journey to self-discovery and has allowed me to see life as something that can be molded into whatever I want it to be. The life you fantasize about is in reach. Daydreams can become reality. Truly anything you can imagine is possible. No one should stop themselves from achieving what they want because of society’s standards and what is expected of them.

A few months ago I began questioning my life goals. I kind of knew deep down that the career I was pursuing and the life I was building for myself weren’t exactly right for me. I realized that I had been measuring my success by other people’s standards: get an undergrad, go to grad school, get a job. But none of this felt right to me. So I said “screw it!” and I decided to follow my intuition and pursue something I was truly passionate about!
I realized I wanted to pursue a career in dietetics. This meant that I would need to “start over” and begin a second undergrad degree. It meant that I wouldn’t be moving to my dream city any time soon. It also meant that I would be 26 by the time I would be ready to practice as a dietitian! I always thought that everyone was on the same road to success and that cruising along the same path would bring me there. But now I know that creating your own path, pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, and defining success for yourself yields the greatest benefit. Following the crowd is always easier but creating your own path is always more fruitful.
Happy Earth Day!! 🌏💚 Here’s a reminder that we all play a part in taking care of our planet, so here are a few tips everyone can use to reduce their environmental impact:
* Ask for no straw when ordering a drink at a restaurant
* Bring your own bags for produce at the grocery store
* Always carry reusable cutlery and a reusable water bottle
* Use public transportation, use your bike, or borrow a city bike instead of driving
* Educate yourself on what actually goes in the recycle bin and the compost bin (FYI coffee cups go in compost!)
* Follow a plant-based diet! Or if that’s too much commitment, go vegan one day per week!
* Be mindful that there’s no such thing as “throwing things away” because that “away” is our soil, our oceans, our forests. Waste doesn’t disintegrate, it remains for thousands of years and has an impact on all of us!
