I stop practicing arm balancing postures and standing asanas for over 7 years. Right after I separated from my sons father. My son was 11 years old and my dauther 15. I felt week and confused with 2 teenagers and on my own. My practice took a huge turn. I lost my balance. I went from an Ashtangi practitioner and teacher to a Hatha yogi, and from there to lying down asanas. My body hurt, my deep backbends weren’t accessible to my body nor my balancing postures. We sometimes wonder why we can’t balance on one foot, why our bodies are in so much pain. I quickly came to realize that when there is trauma, drama, the lost of a love one, death and many other factors, your nervous system takes a toll, and your entire body inside and out changes. Your mind will challenge you. It will take you into dark places, and it is in those moments that your practice has to become your best friend!!! Your practice will lead you from darkness into light. Meditation will strengthen and refocus your mind. Here I am today, back to my arm balancing practices. I still struggle balancing on one food from asana to asana, but I am persistent and will never quit. Hope that my experience can help some one that might be going through what I went through back then. Blessings to all. Namaste 💫
Ganda Bherundasana (Chin Stand) Here is a little history on this Asana. In Sanskrit, ‘ganda’ = ‘cheek or face’ and ‘bherunda’ = ‘intense, powerful, fearful, extreme, terrible’. In the Hindu mythology, Ganda Bherundasana refers to a bird (like an eagle) which has two heads /face and is believed to have or possess magical strength. Hence Ganda Bherundasana (Chin Stand) depicts this bird in it’s power and strength. Traditional Practice Series of Ashtanga Yoga includes Ganda Bherundasana (Chin Stand) as an advance level pose. It is included in Advance A of the Third Series. Chin Stand helps boost energy in the body and hence can be included in flow yoga sequences. Chakras Chin Stand helps open, activate, and balance the following chakra(s): Throat Chakra (Vishuddha Chakra) Anatomy Chin Stand benefits the following muscles and hence can be included in yoga sequences with the corresponding muscle(s) focus: Arms and Shoulders Upper Back Biceps and Triceps Core (Abs) Hamstrings Neck

Living a life of balance is about having a sense of independence and connectedness. For most folks it could mean a right sense and practice of self-care. For others, it’s a home that is organized and has a sense of sanctuary. But many can agree that it also involves having people in your life that build you up instead of breaking you down. Learn to remove negative self-talk from your life: see things in a positive light and the possibilities that are before you instead. ~ Nikki Martinez Blessings to all 💫
This year bring the New Year in with Buddhist prayers that will ensure prosperity and serenity for the upcoming 365 days. These prayers will set the tone for the rest of the year and provide peace of mind for those who have a lot of internal obstacles. The great element about these prayers is that they are diverse and can be received by any individual no matter what their religion may be. Water Flows – Water flows over these hands. / May I use them skillfully to preserve our precious planet. – Thich Nhat Hahn Our hands are just one of the many essential tools that allow us to be productive members of society. Not only do our hands help us complete daily tasks but they also keep the world going. Without our constructive nature the world would be no more. On my way to @yoga4lifestudios Coral Springs Starting the year using my hand to touch with love and healing light 🙌🏼
