We spent the day doing some urban exploration. First impressions: I love the architecture and Denver is an unexpected foodie town! 😍😊

All in all, it's been an epic birthday month. Thanks to the universe for lining things up in my favor! Most of all, I'm excited to announce that @cassiuswright and I are moving to Colorado! Soon views like this one will be a regular thing for me!!! 😍

I was so excited to find a praying mantis to shoot with my baller new macro lens (Canon 100mm). I was less excited when it jumped at my face. These are the sacrifices I make for my art.

Joy in the little things... It's been a really busy and exciting couple of weeks. As usual, when you go from lots of action and excitement to a quieter phase, there's an inevitable let down. Here's to pushing through the tough patch and looking forward to the little things -- the days off, the peaceful moments, and the unexpected discoveries.

Today I am not so patiently waiting for America to return to what it is supposed to be -- a refuge. Be patriotic, vote for change. Work for freedom and equality.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

The beginning of July always feels like the start of a celebration -- it's the first day of my birth month (my birthday is the 31st)! Yes, it might be silly to celebrate for a whole month, but I'm embracing it extra hard this year! This month my book hits the stores, I have my book launch event, my parents are visiting, and I'm seeing Brandi Carlile live! JULY IS HERE AND ITS MY FAVORITE!
