KinderTwins 1st field trip!
Jaxen & Emma both loved their field trip. I was nervous, there were 2000 kids there that day. 😳. I was so grateful that I was assigned my kids only and was placed in Jaxens aide’s group. It was reassuring to know that if he needed a moment that Emma was in good hands with his aide - so grateful his support team thought of that! 💗 Jaxen needed a few lets catch up to the group reminders, he’s easily distracted! But he rode the carousel AND the roller coaster! The roller coaster was loud but after an initial covering his ears, he had so much fun laughing and holding on tight! #preciousmoments#specialkid#sensoryprocessingdisorder
There's just something about singing that quiets the bickering. Love that they sing me "Jesus Music" (Emma's name) in the car. Boys in back, girls in front & car diffusers with citrus bliss helps also!😂 #momwin#cardiffusers#specialneedsfamily
Emma sharing a ring pop with her twin. :)
This past week was conferences. Jaxen's was what I expected, sharing strategies that work and refining those that didn't. He is very social and has lots of friends. Emma's was not. As bossy as she is at home, she is very quiet and shy with few friends at school. But she is very watchful over Jaxen. I know she will blossom as she gets more comfortable. I'm so thankful that Heavenly Father gave them to each other. She is Jaxen's protector and maybe he will help her find confidence in herself. Heavenly Fathers plan is perfect. Twin love 💗💙 #twins#specialneedsfamily#specialneedsmom
The perfect solution for climbers - Bungee cord your chairs to the table. I heard lots of suggestions: put your chairs outside - too hot here, put them on the table - my kids would have pulled them off. So bungee cords it was! #thinkoutsidethebox#specialneedsmom#momwin
When your son is insistent that he is batman and must wear his cape to school. You allow him to be who he is and love him with every fiber of your being.
'You be You' my sweet Jaxen! #batman#disabilityawareness#shine
We all need time away. It's been a busy sometimes stressful summer with my husband's health & challenges that come from a family of 7 and all it's needs. When surgery worked and my husband's eyesight returned, he blessed me by telling me to go to my annual work convention. I have been filling my brain & heart with amazing education and learning so much that will bless my customers & my family. #workathomemom#selfcare#specialneedsmom
That Honeymoon stage of awesome behavior at school is gone. Jaxen has struggled with being overwhelmed and we have had to strategize some tricks for school. My biggest trick in my pocket is communication & love. We are so fortunate to have a learning teacher, Kinder teacher and aide that are invested in Jaxen being successful. So far our new heavy workout plus brushing is working and gives him the ability to quiet down. 💗 #sensoryprocessingdisorder#kindergarten#specialneeds
Sometimes on Sunday, in the midst of relaxing, we need to get the wiggles & jiggles out aka save mom's sanity! The kids love to ride bikes, scooters & rollerblade on our backyard circle sidewalk. Jax has great gross motor skills and the heavy roller blades are perfect for grounding him and letting him feel his body in space. #specialneedsfamily#sensoryprocessingdisorder#seetheability
