Soooo, I have spent the last couple of weeks taking a trip down "memory card" lane πŸ˜† ( see what I did there πŸ˜‰ ) and it's provided me with an opportunity to look at some of my older work with fresh eyes. It's also made me feel like I'm looking backwards instead of forwards and worrying that I haven't improved my skills as much as I should have ( ie what I really mean is as much as others have in that same timeframe 😢 ). This is no ones doing but my own and I know my fear of failure continues to hold me back. Soooo, time to take a short break from posting, look ahead and get out and practice, practice practice!!! .

Now I know why I always picked the arched window on playschool πŸ˜†, clearly it's where you get to see all the cool stuff πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ. Following on from my previous post of The Grotto viewed from above, this is a sample of the stunning views you can soak up from the beach - level 😎. How amazing is nature?!!

If you are planning on heading along the Great Ocean Rd be sure to schedule in a stop at this glorious natural attraction 😍..The Grotto, which is essentially a sinkhole has been described as part blowhole, part archway and part cave...I guess that makes it a triple treat πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜†
You can view this marvellous sight from a viewing platform at the top or head down the stairs and view it at eye-level.
I must confess it took my third trip along this stretch of @australia coastline to even realise this place existed πŸ™„...it was well worth the wait!!

The first time I stepped amongst these Californian Redwoods I felt like I was on the set of The Kettering Incident..did anyone else watch that show? It was brilliant and showed off the wild beauty of Tasmania but I still have no idea what happened πŸ™„πŸ€”πŸ˜†

Sometimes you've just got to go with the flow and try not to sweat the small stuff like someone sticking up an umbrella and a smart phone as you are frantically unpacking your camera gear trying to capture a double rainbow appearing over Uluru 😲 πŸ˜†. I did manage to get in a couple of other shots before the tour bus left without me but the second rainbow wasn't as clear πŸ™„. At the end of the day I was so fortunate to witness this with my son and that's what I will always remember when I look at this photo 😊☺

If you were to browse through my gallery ( feel free to do so πŸ˜‰ ) you would find a number of photos I have taken of the Three Sisters πŸ™„. I think there is something almost comforting in returning to places that are so familiar, it's like catching up with old friends. It also allows you the opportunity to view them from different perspectives and notice things you may not have noticed before πŸ€”...to cut a long story short, this isn't my first photo of the sisters three I have posted and it certainly won't be the last πŸ˜‹.

It's pretty darn amazing to think that we can enjoy taking a drive along the iconic ( and very aptly named ) Great Ocean Rd thanks to the bloody hard work of returned serviceman who built it. It is a permanent memorial to those who died while fighting in World War I and for me personally, that just adds another layer to the experience of being able to take in the incredible sights along this stretch of coastline πŸš—

There are some places you just want to keep going back to..this is one of them 😎..captured earlier this year when we made a last minute decision to head down to the Great Ocean Rd. Stretching for 243km along the south-eastern coast of @australia , this is one of the most spectacular drives in the world ( no bias here of course πŸ˜‰ ). One day I would love to cover the whole distance and take my time to do this incredible place the justice it deserves πŸš— plus who doesn't love a good old fashioned road trip πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Mmmm those Sunday feels when you are still recovering from another heart stopping win by the mighty Sydney Swans...what a night it was at the SCG!! So these totally adorable Koalas are a true representation of my activity or lack thereof today πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ¨πŸ¨πŸ˜΄..you poke a leg out from under the bed covers, have a bit of a stretch and that's about it πŸ™„

The Leaning Trees are a bizarre and beautiful natural phenomenon caused by the airborne salt content blown in with the winds off the Indian Ocean. The tree trunks lie horizontal to the ground and are becoming quite an icon in the area of Greenough ( a 4.5 hr drive north of Perth or 20 mins south of Geraldton ).
There is a roadside car park along the Brand Highway where you can stop, view these magnificent trees and take photographs...personally I think the leaning trees of Greenough @westernaustralia trump the Leaning Tower of Pisa πŸ˜‰

Photography is a way for me to learn to love the light again and seek the beauty in the every day. When you have lived in the darkness for a long time stepping back out of the shadows can be daunting. You learn to feel comfortable with your negative thoughts, self-loathing and anxiety. You desperately want people to like you, to give you a nod of approval and when they do, you wonder why. You begin to feel like the darkness is where you belong, it's where you deserve to be and any time spent in the light will be fleeting. You want to embrace it but in the back of your mind you know that being a self saboteur, you will find a way of dragging yourself back into the shadows *********************************** I am way out of my comfort zone here but if this post helps just one person realise they are not alone with their thoughts or prompts them to start a conversation or reach out for help than that can only be a good thing ***********************************

I'm starting to take this whole IG thing way way too seriously again, which for most people would be their cue to take a break, but I thought I would go for attempting to be fun and frivolous for a bit THEN step away for a while ( let's face it my definition of a while is different to the standard one πŸ™„ )
.

PS..I talk too much, eat too much, post too much, overthink too much, housework too much..pick the odd one out πŸ˜†

Right this way...if you're LUCKY πŸ˜‰ you too could be greeted by a tour guide with a difference as you make your way down to the white sands and turquoise waters of the totally gorgeous Lucky Bay, just one of many swoon worthy places to visit in Cape le Grand National Park in Albany @westernaustralia

Lucky Bay in Esperance was on top of my list of must see places in WA. It was as stunning as I had imagined but I'm so very very glad we continued on to Thistle Cove, located just around the corner in Cape le Grand National Park in @westernaustralia. I can't put my finger on it, but there was something about this incredible place that drew me in πŸ€”. If you are planning on heading to Esperance, be sure to stop by πŸ˜‰

I took this photo towards the end of what was a memorable day, spent with my son, exploring Torndirrup National Park in Albany @westernaustralia 😍...
If my memory serves me correctly I was alternating between trying to capture the beautiful views and yelling at the teenager to stay away from the edge of that rock he was standing on πŸ˜†...a mother's work is never done 😝 ( especially a nervous nelly like I am πŸ™„ )
