Instead of beating yourself up for what went wrong, think to yourself, what can I learn from this? What’s the take away? How can I use what happened to shift and make changes? Take your mistakes and learn from them, its how you evolve and better yourself! #instagood#begood#makethingsbetter#MondayWisdom#lessons
Now that its summer, I love an opportunity to eat outdoors (as long as it isn’t TOO hot out). Eating outdoors can actually decrease stress levels and boost your mood! Comment below if you enjoy dining al fresco 👇 #summertime#eatfresh#nyeats#outdoorlife
We all make mistakes and mess up. I tell my clients, the first step is recognizing it, and the second step is making changes. If you go off track, I know it can feel like a downward spiral. Own what happened, admit it to yourself, don’t beat yourself up, and take steps to move forward. You will feel better by shifting towards healthy changes, vs. the guilt from continuing unhealthy habits. #tuesdaywisdom#actionsspeaklouderthanwords#letsdothis#shame#guilt#shifting#power
Omg, how yummy does this vegetable platter look? I've noticed when #healthy food looks appetizing, we are more likely to eat it! Veggies are great as an appetizer or a snack because they are filled with fiber and help to fill you up! What is your favorite veggie? #mondaysnacks#veggieday#eatwell#snacking#almostdinner
Just Start – start #today ! There will always be an excuse or a reason to push something off. Start where you are, and make small changes along the way. There will never be a “perfect time”. The summer can be busy and more social, but there is no reason why you can’t make healthy changes. Simple tweaks can add up to big results. It doesn’t have to feel like a huge overhaul. #friday#instagood#nutritionist#summertime#advice#realtalk
I’m not a big drinker, but I can definitely enjoy a glass of wine socially. Recently I’ve been enjoying Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. My clients ask me all the time, what alcohol has the least amount of sugar and calories? Not all drinks are created equal, and I would avoid anything with high calorie mixers or big fruity drinks. If you are watching your weight, its about drinking in moderation and not overdoing it. If you know me, my goal with myself and clients is about balance!
One of my “happy places” is by the water. I’m not sure what it is, maybe nostalgia from going to the beach as a kid, but being near the water instantly lifts my mood. Over the past few years, I’ve learned, that if I’m feeling down or moody (yes, it happens to all of us), to remove myself from the situation I am in, and go to the water. I’m lucky enough that I live near the water, but it is my quiet place to go, and recollect myself. What helps to uplift your mood?
Can I get real with you guys? It has been a rough week, and in the midst of it all, somehow I was able to pull it together to have this picture taken. On Sunday, I sent both of my kids to sleep away camp for the summer, which I am so grateful that they get to do that. Monday, I took a step forward in my independence (I am in the process of getting divorced). Wednesday I moved into my new home for myself and my girls, and Thursday I said goodbye to the house I have lived in for 7 years. Life isn’t easy, and can come with many challenges, but with the right strength and support, I proved that I can make it through. All while still seeing clients this week! I hope to be able to share more with you about my journey through this, but for now, things are good, and I am focused on getting my new home ready for my kids when they get back from camp. Life doesn’t always turn out how you expect it to, but that doesn’t mean you can’t write a new chapter for yourself. Cheers to life and a great weekend! #realtalk#transition#divorce#singleparenting#weekendreflections#saturdaychat#brunch#independence
It's a marathon, not a sprint. Small steps will get you big results! When you rush and cut corners because you become inpatient (we all have felt that way at some point, especially with bathing suit season) you may end up back at square one! Most people who lose weight from a fad diet, end up putting it right back on, and sometimes they end up heavier than where they started. When clients come to see me, they are finally ready to change their lifestyle and get off the diet rollercoaster for good! #instagood#bigchanges#nutrition#dedicated
Many small right actions daily can add up to big results. Don’t beat yourself up for not being perfect. When we put too much pressure on ourselves to be “#perfect ” we can set ourselves up to fail and give up. After a set back, get right back on track with healthy eating. It doesn't have to be an all or nothing approach. What changes can you make to get back on track? #instagood#goodtips#tuesday#dontgiveup
"I'm a 38 year old female. I’ve been overweight most of my life. Earlier this year I said to myself, “this is enough, I need to change”. Well, I built up the courage and searched for nutritionists near me. I spoke to a few that I just didn’t mesh with. I came across Ilyse and she welcomed me right away. I was honest and told her all my weight issues and goals. Ilyse set me up with an awesome food plan and schedule. I now look at food as a source of fuel. Ilyse has set me up to get to my goal and in a few months I will be there. Ilyse has encouraged me, worked with my food allergies, and given me delicious recipes. I’m down 12 lbs. and need to buy new clothes, but I continue to loose weight. Soon enough I will though. Summer is coming & I’m excited to show off my recreated self!" - Cyndi, ISN Client. 😀
