It's a rest day for me today...this work week has taken a toll and I'm spent...I have dinner plans tonight where I'm getting pizza and I'm going to love it...usually I only allow myself pizza on leg or pull days but not today...nope...I'm fueling my pizza love and I don't need to feel that I have to use it other than it's delicious and necessary...

Even on rest days I still need to move my body and stretching is such a great way to do that...I need to stretch more often b/c it's my time where I can totally let go...it's the best part of the workout for me...especially on leg days...oh definitely on leg days...❤

I was so close to skipping the gym today since it's technically an off day but my boys are out with Cubscout stuuuuff and I don't like being home alone for long so the gym saved me...After yesterdays sad workout I wanted to hit my lower body again but not too crazy...was going to do single leg hip thrusts with a DB I saw the landmine was open so I chose to do a full body workout using the landmine and some plates...it was a good workout...finished it with incline walking on the treadmill and felt satisfied...

There are two #workouts to each slide.  Each slide is a #superset so make sure to watch the full slide.  They are all sped up 2.0. 
Each superset is 4x10-12 reps.
Make sure to keep your core tight w  every workout...you can easily lose focus and hurt your back...no bueno...well its shower time...oh and dinner time...❤🤗

Today was a rough day for me...I was exhausted, felt my blood sugar drop at lunch and had an emotional day at work...I worked later too and made it to the gym unmotivated to go.  It was #legday and I was desperate to find an excuse not to go...but I dragged myself there. .

I started with #hipthrusts and the pain was excruciating on my baby hematoma @nascarnora 😍...I put a pad in my cart from Amazon while doing them.  I managed 5x10 at 275 lbs but the pain was telling me something so I stopped...I moved my sad body to some other sad workouts and managed to get a good pump but  I was done after 45 minutes...just needed to go home...so I did.

I was happy with the feeling I had in my glutes...and I've been eating gooood...maybe not as much as i need to which could also be why I'm feeling dead...but it's all good...I'm not beating myself up I broke a sweat and I ordered a new pad...

Tomorrow is a new day and I'll take it...I feel really good in my skin, I'm loving my body and I'm not ashamed to show it...we should all embrace our bodies, our flaws, our imperfections...I'm working on that daily...😍😍😍

I'm nervous but excited about Thanksgiving...this is our first Thanksgiving with Tommy where he will get to experience a big family celebration...I grew up celebrating with my extended family...but Tommy has yet to have that same joy...I've ben selfish and have wanted to keep my holidays small but it's sad and I noticed in his eyes last year as he noticed other families celebrating that he wanted to know what that was like.  He and fell in love with his cousins this past January and now cant wait to se them again...I can't either...I hope it will be a start of a new tradi... .

What makes me nervous is no gym for three days...I've already started planning in my head now I will get an early pre drive workout on Wednesday and how I can double up next week...but I shot that voice down...I remind myself how I need a break, I won't shrink, nothing bad will happen...I will have a great time and enjoy the festivities and I'll return to the gym just fine...maybe even stronger...

I need my peptalks often because though I'm fine and strong and aware-that voice pops in...I will be fine, no regrets...this is my life and making the sacrifice to be with my family and enjoy life is the decision I need to make more and more often...I only have this life, Tommy will be cute and sweet for so long 😂...and then what...so I will live each day and each moment appreciating what I have...I am lucky...❤ .

This workout is all single arm work...I did do some other stuff but this is just a few of how I used the handle and hit my back and arms pretty well...I had fun and that's what is most important. .

My gloootes and my hammies were crying all day...it was fantastic...I had to take it easy today after all the heavy hip thrusts I did yesterday that does take a toll also on my upper body...The gym was packed when I got there so I found a cable machine did a lot of upper body circuits... it was a nice change of pace and my upper body was done...I also only had an hour so I had to kill it fast...

It was a nice day today...I've been feeling really stress free and relaxed.. I think cleaning up my diet has helped a lot...I've been really mindful of my eating and not eating empty calories because not only does it do nothing for me but I also stress out when I eat empty calories...if I want a goodie it will be worth it...hello pumpkin pie next week...😍😍😍

I woke up this morning feeling so refreshed despite an event that took place during my "sleep"...haha...I have this problem where my right arm/hand falls asleep BAD at night and eventhough I can't feel them it still hurts...well I woke myself up after I punched myself in the face with said dead arm/hand...quite the experience...it was possessed...haha...not really but I do have to say it is super annoying and really breaks up my sleep...not the punching...haha...but the sleepy arm...drama I know....

Today is Monday, Veterans Day and my son is off but my husband and I both work...my husband is a Veteran, he was a Corpsman and though I didn't know him back then I am always so proud of him and serving his country...I thank all the men and women who served our country...we tell Tommy they are all heros... 😘😍

Today is an easy upper body day, emphasis on delts and arms with some back, in trying it out to see if I like this new split... but really it would mean leg day tomorrow instead of Wednesday and my bootie and hammies are SORE...so maybe not...not to mention my black and blue swollen hip bones...well  not bones...hips...so today I have to get in and out of my workout to pick up Tommy from a friends but those workouts when i feel rushed always do seem to be the best ones...

Hit a new PR...385!!!! I clearly don't push myself the way I need to be pushed...miss having that motivation or that coach I had when I had a trainer...but some super nice people at the gym challenged me as I was teaching them how to hip thrust...

I sat at 315 for way too long and now it's a burnout weight..I initially planned to just do 4 sets of 15 banded hipthrusts at 275 today but that ended up as a warm up routine...I then went to 335, 355, 365 then 4 reps at 385...I know I complain about my pad but OMFG my hips hate me...I could have gone for one more set but my pad is flat...anyhoo... after my 385x4 I dropped to 315 at 15 reps>>275 15 reps...finished w 5x15 BB glute bridges and all sorts of other stuff after I killed myself...it was a great workout...now off to the grocery store. .

Today's workout was high volume  with compound lifts.  Typically I don't do my compound heavy workouts if I'm high volumizing (🤔) it...but I did...even with wrong shoes...but it was a good workout with lots of rear delt moves since I believe I have a hole in my back..@d_rain831 says I'm crazy...but I added more rear delt moves...so I take his advice...I mean...seriously who wouldn't... 😉

I start my back days with some lat activation workouts and warm up with the lat pulldown...today I didnt have that option b/c the cables were taken so I started with a triset with the barbell and essentially started my workout there but I listed the workouts here how I would have started it...

I've struggled to make friends since our move from southern California 4 years or 3 years ago...hmmmm🤔...but recently I've been making the best connections...work and the gym...two of my happy places...yes work is a happy place...when I changed jobs 2 years ago I was nervous I'd be completely isolated since it's such an autonomous job...but...nope, yay...friends...good friends...and now I'm really finding a good community at the gym...but what I love is the girlfriends I'm making...sorry guys...but it's just been such a wonderful unexpected surprise...I have my family but I can't use them as an excuse to have no friends, to isolate, and be a flake...for my health and my family's health I've finally broken free from my codependency to my husband and have found who I am and can maintain good friendships with all my priorities in check...I'm so happy...it's been a good year...😍

I got out of work late today and initially wasnt going to workout but I was glad I did...I needed to even if it was minimal.  I always, well usually, get a good pump when I work my delts and triceps and today was no exception...even though I wasn't at my best. .

But it's always nice to have some workouts that are so measurable like the tricep bench dip.  I remember when I couldn't even do these on the floor, now the 25 lb weight with elevated legs is too light...it definitely made my day and was a nice finisher...

I'm exhausted after this week...I look forward to good heavy workouts, lunch with my friend, hot baths and rest this weekend...and lord the coming week is a rough one so I need this rest...😘

Not much to say this morning...I will say that I started to share my journey after I became very sick in June...and as I started to become more comfortable I shared more...not just of my day to day but also my body...I felt less shame and more pride, I became more confident and made some amazing friends.  One of my closest friends who has known me in my darkest times read my insta and realized that this is my therapy...she was/is so proud and sees a different Haley.  I am truly happy with where my life has gone and I like to think this account has taken me to the next level of security and love for myself.  I no longer hide, I no longer feel shame or fear that people will criticize or laugh at me..I don't care...this is my life, my journey and I'll have it where I want.  I share because it helps me and in return hopefully I can help others. 😘

I look in the mirror and love myself but also critique myself, I remind myself of where I have been and how low I've fallen...I know I am not as lean as I have been, but I also know I want to get stronger and build more muscle so I have to eat a bit more, put on a bit extra and work extra hard...I love all the above so why not enjoy the process with the end goal of growth, happiness, health and a body I love...I will have the stamina to be with my son and I will live a long life with him.  I will embrace my curves, embrace my body and eat some more pizza...life is valuable and I'm fighting to hold on and cherish it. .

I had a heck of a time sleeping last night; my glutes were on fire all night.  I guess it’s a good thing, but come on…I need to sleep for those puppies to grow…but nope, sleep is bad again…seems like im finally asleep by 330…ugh.  Oh well, I don’t stress like I used to about my sleep, it happens it happens, it’s crappy, it’s crappy…oh well.  I do have to put some of the blame on my 5 year old who likes to take over my pillow and my side of the bed…um, ok, maybe it’s my fault because I let him sleep with us…but he’s only this little for so long so I want to hold on to his baby boyness still…

This morning has already been an adventure, I managed to make my smoothie with the added ingredient of silicon beads…my protein powder was a new tub and I didn’t empty the scoop before I put it in my blender, when I drank it I was trying to figure out why it was soooooo grainy, and what was up with the paper…well I figured it out…am I doing to die, foam at the mouth, or just have really  bad diarrhea…hmmm…but in reality, I will be normal and fine…

Well today is a rest day for me, I realized no more backyard workouts since it’s getting dark sooner, so I will have to move on into the house, we will see…well off to get my first patient of 7 for the day…ugh.

I planned for a higher volume,  lighter weight day but...I guess lighter weights is relative as you get stronger...almost busted my sad hip bones again w hipthrusts ...I realized it's this one bar at the gym that spins and with the heavier weight it makes my pad slip and it's a deadlift bar so it's thicker too...but I managed...I didnt go up to 335 today, I stayed at 315 and I'm feeling it now...gloootes...and I pushed myself on my deadlifts...trying to keep my grip overhand as heavy as I can and I feel much more in control but by the 8th rep at 155 I had to switch under/over...my back is really thick so I really don't want to add more thickness to it by going super heavy...overall it was a good workout....

I, however, looked in the mirror and looked ghostly...my face had no color, I was winded more and knew I just did not eat enough...busy days at work are killing my workouts...I stocked my desk w some protein bars at least...but on leg days it never seems like it's enough...

tomorrow is a rest day for me but I'll do some banded glute exercises...I miss my morning workouts and the people...I might TRY to go in and get in some cardio...I'm never full and always want more time and volume...😁😂🤣

I couldn't sleep at all last night...I went to bed early and most liky b/c of that and planning to gym it this morning caused some unnecessary anxiety.  I changed my alarm at 3:00 am to wake me at 6:00 AM Instead of 5:00 AM and after that I believe I fell asleep. .

A change in routine is always hard and definitely affects me. even the smallest change.  This is true also for my body, changing up my workouts or food intake significantly affects me and I do try to use it to my advantage. .

I feel like I'm in a rut with my upper body work...I'm bored...I want more volume...I'm going to change my split from ppl to upper/lower...I will still be working out 6 days a week but get the extra #lowerbody day and extra day to work on lagging #upperbody parts...I will see how it works out...I'm a creature of habit and find it hard to change up something familiar but it's important if I want to continue to develop my body and stay healthy and motivated. Today is my leg day  it's a high volume day and I hope to have the energy for it...I'm packed with patients and meetings today so I will do what I can to have the energy, strength and endurance...yes fuel is number ONE. 😁

Pull day and it was ok...today I tend to focus more on my vertical pulls and less on horizontal...my back is pretty thick and it does not need a too much... I can always push my lats and rear delts more..they definitely can grow more...

Here are only a few cableexcercises I did to isolate my lats more...

1. 5x12-10 Vbar high row...these burn and my goal is to move the whole stack, I'm getting  close--these are very slowed and controlled holding at the very end

2. 5x15-20 kneeling Rope pull downs >>rope pulldown but rope is higher up and stack is heavier
.
3. 5x10-12 sitting rear delt fly >>rear delt row

These are only a few of my workout today...finished off with bicep curls variations...

Tomorrow is leg/glute day...I ready need a good workout...hopi g tomorrow is it...goi g to try for a morning and evening so I can get in more volume...my glutes need it...😁
