Who’s meal planning for the week?
We’ve still got a pie pumpkin kicking around from Halloween, so this Indian Spiced Lentil & Pumpkin Soup is on the list!
It is so packed with flavour and so SO simple. There’s coconut milk AND peanut butter if you need more convincing.
If you make it with canned pumpkin, which is equally delish, it’s a full on pantry meal - meaning, if your life gets wild and mixed up and you can’t follow your meal plan this week (can we get an ‘amen’?) you can feel free to hold off for another week without worrying (and feeling guilty) about wasting food.
Anyone else getting a head start on their weekend meal prep? You are definitely going to want to add this Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese with Caramelized Onions and Apples to your list. It’s made using crispy and sweet @ontarioapples, perfect for apple (and mac and cheese) season! 🧀🍎It’s also really easy to bake a double batch and pop in your freezer. And trust us, you’re definitely going to want to do just that! Recipe on #howtoeatblog today! (Link in profile). #sponsored#ONappleAday
Let’s. play. Jeopardy!
Can you guess the question? 🍳
It’s Erin’s key to the most delightfully fluffy 2-minute scrambled eggs. A perfect meal on the fly.
Scroll on over to see the question AND what other guests answered at last month’s #CanolaConnect dinner with chef @chefeliaherrera & farmer @farminginpearls.
We had a blast learning to make churros, taking about (incredible) Canadian farmers, Canola oil (also Canadian!), and sitting down to enjoy one of the BEST Mexican meals ever.
So, tell us, whats your answer?

After getting to celebrate How to Eat’s first 6 years at the Taste Canada awards this week, we were feeling nostalgic. This recipe is a mashup of our very first #HowToEatBlog recipe and a new delicious favourite.
We’re feeling so overwhelmed after last night’s @tastecanadaawards. We were nominated alongside some Canadian food blogger icons and while we didn’t come away winners, we felt so much love from all the people who were there to support us. Maybe it was just us, but we heard the loudest cheer of the night come our way when our names were read as nominees.
THANK YOU to all our fellow RDs, home economists, chefs, farmers and food enthusiasts who were there to celebrate with us and who always make us feel valued in this amazing food community.
