I'm ever grateful for the increasing number of Brissy cafes and restaurants that aren't exclusively vegan, but offer vegan-friendly menu options πŸ™ However, I am especially honoured when a chef goes out of his or her way to use their creativity and artistry to conjure up completely new and inspired vegan dishes, which serves to both nourish and delight vegan diners, but additionally push that chef's culinary expertise πŸ”ͺ 
Besides @thenewblackbne always serving infallible coffee (and the best dang Matcha Latte I've had in forever), they're simply great peeps and their chef Andrew @euphoric_bernard is deadset one to watch in Brisbane πŸ’― 
He doesn't cut corners when it comes to creating immeasurably tasty and exquisitely presented memorable dishes (quite the opposite, for one of the specials on the weekend just gone he was up at 3am perfecting his blood orange crumpets) 😯

This vegan special was exactly what I'd been craving - something warm, hearty and spiced - and each ingredient was so beautiful on it's own; the tenderness of the the potatoes, the tang of the fennel and pickly onions... I could rave, but let's just say the dish as a whole had me "shook" as the kids say πŸ‘…

This was definitely one of the most satisfying and wholesome-tasting veggie burger patties I've had in Brisbane, and I loved that it, as well as the other burger fills were nice and simple πŸƒ

There are loads of vegan options on this brekkie menu too, including things like Corn Fritters (GF!), a Vegan Breaky Burrito and 4 Waffle options (not GF) πŸ™Œ

Prime example - this β€’ Corn and Fennel Ravioli β€’ from @vegerama 🌱

Sweet corn and roasted fennel ravioli on a carrot puree, served w/ baby carrot, pistachio milk + crumb 🀀

Besides the gorgeous novelty of having the pistachio milk poured by the waitress UPON serving (very nice), this pasta, by some culinary magic is deceptively GLUTEN FREE, although by al dente texture and taste, you would easily fool most regular pasta enthusiasts 😜

The yield of the pasta and the crunchy crumb is, as you would know by now, a contrast I always relish πŸ‘… Plus served aside complementary Winter veg retaining some healthy crunch, this was especially satisfying βœ”βœ” You will be sad it's finished🍴 .

Do get in and try it - our beautiful server commented that we chose the best dishes on the menu (we also ordered the Marinated Tofu Steak) - though going from the degree of menu anxiety (followed by mouthgasmic rapture) I experience upon each visit to this OG Brisvegan staple, I can safely assume that EVERYTHING is good here πŸ’―

It has been FOREVER, SINCE I've had anything that remotely tastes like Chinese takeaway (something that seems to be rather hard to acquire as a vegan πŸ€”), and this satisfied all those cravings, like, πŸ’―
