One of these guys (an adult Macaque) ran off with my plastic bottle of water while I was taking photos. Another one got his hands on a lens. Mischievous buggers. But the infants are cute.

Plant a seed and watch it grow. 75% of proceeds from this handcrafted t-shirt go towards growing small scale farms in Borno, Nigeria, a country disproportionately affected by climate change.
One t-shirt can feed 250 kids a healthy, locally sourced meal. To learn more about this small scale farming endeavor, visit www.globalroots.org.

This is a video I produced for Global Roots International. They build small scale farms around the world. The food they grow is distributed to a local school lunch program that feeds students and ensures that they stay in school. As a result, the food not only provides sustenance for kids but the shot at a meaningful academic life, as dropout rates dramatically decrease when kids know they can get fed. Global Roots is starting it's small scale farming operation in the Borno region of northeast Nigeria this month. Borno has internationally low literacy rates, with 72% of kids not being able to read by completion of the sixth grade. In addition, Boko Haram, an ISIL affiliate which kidnapped 300 girls in 2014, has left the country distraught. AND Borno is undergoing one of the worst droughts the world has seen in modern times.
Without a doubt, these people need our help and we know that a small scale farm can make a difference. To visit the Global Roots Instagram page click here @globalrootsinternational
Note: I realize this video is about the Horn of Africa, not Nigeria. It was produced for one of Global Root' previous projects in Kenya, which is also undergoing a serious drought

This was taken in the parking lot of an apartment complex in West Seattle. The bicycle just happened to be parked in stall 111! Lighting near perfect.
