To anyone in Bellevue today - PDL will be hosting the reunion of the 80s boy band the Wonder Boys - 4:00-7:00 at Compass Plaza. Come on down and get an autographed poster, or just ask your favorite WB what they’ve been up to all these years. Photo circa 1985.
Tonight is the release party for the newest issue of Arcade Magazine, with special guest editor Nick Licata. I contributed a short story about the new Ghost Cabin installation at Chophouse Row and wrangled in the talented Jed Dunkerley to illustrate it. Release Party is tonight 5:30-7:30 at Good Weather Bicycle and Cafe, next to the Ghost Cabin.
Vito’s turns 8 on Saturday or 65 if you want to count way back - either way, it’s a seattle institution and we are proud to be carrying the torch. Please join us and usher in the fall - summer is great and all, but autumn is where it’s at. Looking forward to shorter days, longer nights, layers and candles and red wine and getting cozy. Hope you can join us!
This is Alan Maskin. He’s one of the kindest, smartest, most thoughtful humans I know, and yesterday he showed me his newly imagined and recently (mostly) completed renovation of the space needle. And it is AMAZING. Pay the $25 bucks. Drink $11 tall boy rainiers. Bring a friend and sit on the glass bottom floor and see the city in a way you’ve never seen it. I want to buy a year long pass. It’s the coolest. I just can’t say enough. I’m honored to call Alan a dear friend and seattle is lucky to have such a rare architectural treasure. Promise you’ll fall in love with the Pacific Northwest all over again. @alanmaskin
The 17th issue of the Vital 5 Review is hot off the press and kinda awesome. Good job adult drawing drinkers! 80 pages of contemporary art and confessionals. Sure it took a year to put this together but it was worth the wait. Drop by and grab a copy.
