Today I toured the Hilma af Klint exhibit at the @guggenheim with my art consultants @sidelmcelwreath. It blew me away, and she was such a fascinating person that you must see it before it ends April 23rd! The museum is also a great place to bring kids when visiting NYC - every second Saturday they give interactive tours for families, you can borrow art materials for sketching every Saturday, there is an art studio for ages 3 and up on Sunday’s, and every weekend you can pick up Family Activity Packs. I love when I can combine my interests with theirs. For more info visit Guggenheim.org/for-families
ASPEN DINING* Here is another view of our private yurt at the @elevenmadisonpark Winter House at the @stregisaspen. This pop up is only in town until April, but here are some of our other favorite restaurants - for nicer dining, Matsuhisa, Cache Cache, Pinons and Clark’s; for casual, Ajax Tavern, Venga Venga and CP Burger. More will be listed in our Aspen guide, out soon
The thing I love about the new year is knowing you get 365 new chances. So here’s to taking risks, making changes, loving harder, and of course, exploring new horizons. Where are your travels taking you this year?
Happy New Years Eve to everyone! As I reflect on the year I’m so grateful for my Instagram friendships and followers - your comments and questions truly mean so much to me, and I love engaging with all of you. Keep asking for travel tips and itineraries! I can’t wait to see where 2019 takes all of us. PS this was from our cozy yurt at the @elevenmadisonpark Winter House pop up at the @stregisaspen yesterday. So much fun to apres ski in a private yurt! 💋💋💋
With Fast Tracks you can get on the mountain before anyone else. I love the solitude. Check out aspensnowmass.com for more info
ASPEN SHOPPING* There are so many high-end stores here that are beautiful but we prefer the unique boutiques. Some of our favorites include @olivela (which is well-known but 20% of each purchase goes towards education for girls), @pcdgaspen for all the brands you love plus a great selection of jewelry, @bandanaaspen, seen here, which is so cute for kids and women, the shop at @thelittlenell, the original @cosbar for skincare and makeup, @shopmarcus which is a chain but has the cutest accessories, and the famous @kemosabe1990 for cowboy hats and boots for all ages. I also love @aspentrueofficial which can be found at Bandana or online, and the shop at the pop up @soulcycle. Photos in Stories and a full Aspen/Snowmass guide coming soon
Aspen Activities* We’re so lucky to have snow this year at Christmas (there was no snow last year) because our favorite activities in the winter are centered around it. The kids love the Treehouse at Snowmass Village where we put them in ski school ALL DAY 😉 and you can also put babies in daycare. We also love snow tubing and riding the roller coaster at Snowmass, dog sledding with @krabloonik and ice skating at the rink next to CP Burger. And there are also great indoor activities at the Aspen Rec Center like a batting cage, climbing wall and indoor pool with water slides. So much to do in Aspen/Snowmass ❄️ What kinds of winter activities do you look for when traveling?
The coziest spot in Aspen @hoteljeromeaspen
Merry Christmas Eve from our family to yours! ⛪️🎄
Made it to the Aspen area and excited for our first family dinner. Headed to @pinecreekcookhouse with the kids by horse-drawn sleigh while some of the grownups cross country ski to the restaurant. Such a fun thing to do here and we may or may not have hot toddies. What is your favorite holiday drink?
When visiting Washington DC it’s always fun to take a tour of the White House, particularly in December when decorated for Christmas. No matter your political party, this is a museum for the American people and it is fascinating to see its historic past. To schedule a tour contact your Congressman at least 21 days in advance but no more than three months out. More photos of the holiday decor in my Stories
Could London buildings be any more beautiful? (PS Santa please bring me some @cartier 😉)
One of my favorite online sites for colorful jewelry and accessories is @gaiaforwomen, especially because each piece is crafted by refugees who now live in Texas. I was so lucky to be able to interview the founder Paula Minnis on all of her favorite things, link in bio. Find out what her favorite hotels are, her travel uniform, skincare secrets, and some of the best advice I’ve seen for parents. Thank you to Chrissy at @inmyclosetblog for first introducing me to the brand 💋
Our guide to a weekend in Charleston while staying at The Dewberry Hotel is now up, link in bio. We’ve created a 48 hour itinerary for those with limited time, but if you are planning a longer trip you can check out our full city guide on the Glimpse app. @thedewberrycharleston
