Yesterday's lunch. Coming to the end of our two weeks in #puglia using up the bits and bobs in the fridge. Look what @jonadingle whipped up. Delicious.

What an amazing book. He captures the  voice of Laura so beautifully. An old voice on very young shoulder, from a place I have never been to but feel I know now. 
Gosh we cried, he cried more (he knew what was coming) 
I feel that there were three endings to this beautiful story. One after the other after the other. An amazing talent to be about to take someone to a place, feel the cold, feel the pain and the love in only a short story.

Our favourite #puglian bitter dish orecchiette cime di rapa #homemade (not the #orecchiette ) 
While the orecchiette is bubbling away in water as salty as the #Adriatic

Fry onions, garlic, anchovies and chilli until soft and fragrant. 
Wash the #cimedirapa (or broccoli). Rip the leafs and chop some of the tender stems. 
Add the stems to the orecchiette for the last two or three mins. 
When the #pasta is cooked drain and add  along with the leaf  to the oily sauce. 
Mix and serve with grated lemon and hard strong chesse.

Table for two @jonadingle and I just polished off a delish mushroom pasta with garlic,, chilli, ricotta forte, pecorino and the zest of lemon. I think I may have broken every Italian rule cooking this dish but it was delicious! Now time for a game of chess. 
The beautiful bottle of bubbles was a welcome gift to our cassa from @helloapulia we have been here seven times now and feel like it is a second home!

What a culinary revelation. Before heading to #puglia we bought the #jamiecooksitaly book and read about #friselle when we arrived at our "off the grid" eco caseddhra (house) we were offered a pack of #frisellepugliesi beautiful ripe tomatoes and the most delicious #oliveoil (from the grove we are staying in) as a gift. Our host told us to steep to rock solid bread in water for as long as it takes to say a #hailmary . I don't know the hail Mary but 20 seconds was perfect. 
What a perfect lunch. It's a little like a #bruschetta and a little like a #panzanella the tomatoes were bursting with juice and the olive oil had a fire I have never experienced before. It was pure heaven.

The park, olive grove and house is managed by @parco_paduli an NGO (charity)

I love charity shop shopping! One of the best ways to not buy new and used what has already been made. I feel the universe was screaming BUY ME when I laid eyes on this beauty.
