Want to know something that makes me happy? My little green church has a teeny tiny sink. Turned the water on today and the man from the water company said: cute sink. Want to know something else I find stunningly awesome? My patrons so far are from four different countries! They actually got to see the wee sink today in a photo in my Facebook group for patrons. Getting acquainted with the building is part of the fun!
As soon as my fundraising ends I’ll start going live and sharing the process in video!
I would love your support on this studio venture. Your patronage would mean the world to me. This morning I was mostly nerves turning that key in the lock at 7:30 am. It’s a time of growth for me, for sure. Link in bio to the details, and thank you!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
These two paper beauties come from two of my courses. Which, you’ll receive all of my paper flower courses with my top patronage reward.
Things to consider! 🌸🙏😘
There’s a river behind my studio. Usually mighty and powering our pulp and paper industry. This view is right behind my studio: an island separating the swell. My town is one small town of many along the river banks with exactly the same economy. Our citizens do everything you can imagine in pulp and paper. From planting the trees to harvest, from boiler room maintenance to process inspections, from transport of raw stumpage to transport of finished product. While it is true Maine’s heart is her forests, this river, like the other mighty Maine rivers, runs like her blood. I am an artist on this river, here to send my OWN paper dreams on down the line. I shot this years ago, lost in a world of my own imagination. Dreams do come true.
What a feeling! I woke this morning to another patron pledging their support of my summer studio! My heart feels light and my soul has wings! My goal is to have ten patrons and I’m on my way. Feel like shouting from the rooftops and also just quietly making amazing things! Tomorrow is my first full day in the church studio and am so excited to get started.
I made this paper bundle of joy last summer to mix with fresh florals for a wedding arch in collaboration with @fastponyflowers.
If you’d like to support my summer of paper flowers as a patron please see the link in bio, the top level patron gets access to all of my paper flower courses and two private lessons. ❤️ Eyes on the prize!! #papercraft#paperartist#paperpetals#paperflowers#florabeane#summerwedding#weddingflowers#collaboration#botanicalartist#prettyflowers#paperdahlia#paperpeony#supportthearts
This was a spring arrangement as I was discovering my large peony pattern through practice. I was playing around trying to figure out the scale and visual power of the larger flower. The next two weeks I’m asking for support as an artist, as over the next months I have a space in which to grow. For rewards I’ll be running a Facebook group with lots of live demos during my studio days that will archive for later viewing, offering one-on-one calls to patrons, as well as access to all of my paper flower courses at the top level of support. If you enjoy my instagram lives this reward on Facebook is much better as the videos save to view later in case you can’t catch it right at the moment. I’m so excited to create the dreams in my head and to share the process, thank you for checking out my Patron Pack!! Link in profile!
Blooming! In terms of putting myself out there, this is pretty much putting myself out there. I’m so excited for my studio summer and would love to have support as it unfolds. I believe my paper flowers will reach a greater level this summer. If you would consider it, I’m looking for patrons. Link in profile with an explanation of patron rewards run entirely through Teachable, Zoom and Facebook groups, along with the nitty gritty of expenses. I’ve felt a lot of love and support from this community - so much so, that as vulnerable as it is to ask for patronage for a new and unknown stage, there are people here who lift me up DAILY and bring me support beyond measure! You all make me feel like this is my calling and my passion, blooming full. Thank you all!
Link in profile to Patron Packages. I’ll be closing the cart on this June 30 to ensure full delivery of rewards. Thank you again for being a part of my journey as an artist. And for those who are wondering, I did sleep most of the day and made a quick studio run on the way to daycare. Walking in to that place with boxes of crepe paper set my soul on fire!
Now it’s off to bed and a full night’s rest for a full day of flowering tomorrow, including makers meeting!
Nine months ago - a practice dahlia for my first online course - styled with foraged foliage. I’m looking back this morning tucked in bed as the rain falls. Not a day to move boxes of paper. More like binge-watch Netflix and mentally organize!
If you’ve ever been on the nine-month teaching schedule you know the day after getting out can hit you like a ton of bricks. I woke up today excited for the future but exhausted for what just happened.
Gathered up...like my thoughts on this, the last day of school.
After the staff meal I meet with the owner of the green church to do the final agreement and get keys...
Many have remarked on this turn of events coming to fruition (even saying it’s romantic and meant-to-be, to which I say money talks and agreements protect both parties 😂 how romantic) and I can’t really wrap my head around it yet. This afternoon I will have my first chance to work in there and prep the space. It’s exciting and I’m keeping my eyes on the prize: a little working corner of an old building in town. I have a summer show coming up at @thegoodsupply and can’t wait to share more. More of the space, more of the creative process of building a body of work for a show.
Now it’s off to get ready for the very last day of school....
It’s here! My paper ranunculus course is fully loaded and available now as a finished course! I decided to demonstrate how to flatlay style the finished paper blooms, using Canva for a simple and beautiful quote, for the bonus content. If you’ve never used Canva, it’s so fun and I hope my short bonus demo gets you hooked.
The best part? Yet again, the fabulous women behind @bloominpaperpetals and @rosemillestudio worked with me to provide templates and kits. It makes learning something new that much easier, when the details are tied with a bow like that!
Please let me know what you think of the course and be sure to tag me with #loveflorabeane when you post!

Here is the lupine that self seeds and spreads every year. These are on the Maine invasive watch list. I don’t think anyone in Maine cares. This flower is beloved and iconic in our state. I left plenty to go to seed and continue the purple trend. A little color for your Monday! On my agenda: finish ranunculus course and post!
