“As time goes on, you’ll understand. What lasts, lasts; what doesn’t, doesn’t. Time solves most things. I kept seeing this book everywhere, and It seems like a magical little read so I got it. ALSO the cover artwork is sooo stuinning. ☕️ ________________________________________________________ Synopsis: THINGS FINLEY HART DOESN’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT • Her parents, who are having problems. (But they pretend like they’re not.) • Being sent to her grandparents’ house for the summer. • Never having met said grandparents. • Her blue days—when life feels overwhelming, and it’s hard to keep her head up. (This happens a lot.) Finley’s only retreat is the Everwood, a forest kingdom that exists in the pages of her notebook. Until she discovers the endless woods behind her grandparents’ house and realizes the Everwood is real–and holds more mysteries than she’d ever imagined, including a family of pirates that she isn’t allowed to talk to, trees covered in ash, and a strange old wizard living in a house made of bones. With the help of her cousins, Finley sets out on a mission to save the dying Everwood and uncover its secrets. But as the mysteries pile up and the frightening sadness inside her grows, Finley realizes that if she wants to save the Everwood, she’ll first have to save herself. Reality and fantasy collide in this powerful, heartfelt novel about family, depression, and the power of imagination
"Life is not like water. Things in life don’t necessarily flow over the shortest possible route." - Haruki Murakami / 1Q84 ________________________________________________________ Today my heart feels all warm and squishy cause I feel so blessed to have amazing people in my life. I received a wonderful present from @bookish.burrow yesterday and still am speechless. You're so wonderful, thank you again. So much love ♥️
It finally keeps snowing and the snow doesn't melt immediately after, which is *big thumbs up*. 🌨This weather calls for tea, scented candles and reading under cosy blankets with fairylights lit EVERYWHERE. 🍵 ________________________________________________________ Little reading update. I paused reading Skyward (which I love already) to buddy read Illuminae with my fellow book hobbit @bookish.burrow (it's actually a reread for me)
One last bookshelf update before 2019 starts. Here is my beauty in daylight. I'm never 100% happy with it, no matter how many times I re-decorate it. A trip to ikea is badly needed atm. So that's the plan for spring next year. Pimp the bookshelves until I finally I am satisfied (who am I kidding that probably won't ever happen) BUT HEY!
"Grief is a most peculiar thing; we're so helpless in the face of it. It's like a window that will simply open of it's own accord. The room grows cold, and we can do nothing but shiver. But it opens a little less each time, and a little less; and one day we wonder what has become of it." - Arthur Golden / Memoirs of a Geisha ________________________________________________________ Sorry guys I don't have reading updates atm. But given the current situation, I haven't been in the right mental state to read atm. I'm still trying to process everything and figure out how to deal with the way I'm grieving. I want to try to get back into reading soon tho. Cause I feel like diving into a new world and forgetting about my troubles for a while.
"They're not just dreams. Not anymore, I dream more than I wake now, and, at times, I have crossed over. Can't you see? I've been there." - Mark Helprin / Winter's Tale ___________________________________________________ A little update : After what happened, I thought I'd stay away from instagram for awhile... But without my dog my days seems so empty and cold that I try to pick up everything to keep my mind away from it. Despite the terrible pain and sadness, I'm trying to watch a lot of funny / heart warming things, I'm trying to read but atm my mind is too busy. And I still can't wrap my head around the thought that my best friend, my partner in crime, the best pupper ever won't ever come back. This is truely the loneliest I felt ever. So I thought I come back to bookstagram, maybe it brings a bit of distraction too. "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." - winnie the pooh (also a huge thank you to everyone of you who've been so kind to send me love, I appreciate it so much)
"In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit....." ________________________________________________________ Where autumn makes me feel like re-reading Harry Potter, Winter makes me feel like re-reading all the Tolkien books. I already have my tbr for december planned and think I need to make room for one more book, cause my soul screams TOLKIEN TIME! December tbr: • A Winter's Promise • The Hobbit (re-read) • A Winters Tale • A Gentlemen's Guide To Vice and Virtue • The Geisha (re-read) Q: Which books do you want to read before the new year?
A little bookshelf update at the end of the year 🎄
Artemis / Ἄρτεμις , goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals and chastity. Sister of Apollo / Ἀπόλλων, god of music, poetry, arts, oracles, archery, herds and flocks, diseases, healing, light, sun, knowledge and protection of young. Daughter of Zeus / Ζεύς & Leto / Λητώ
Hey lovelies, I hope you're all well. Since I'm a genius and posted the wrong PLANNED!! picture (yay me) I present to you: The photo that was actually planned.... I redecorated my bookshelf.... a bit, changed minor things tbh. Just the "black / gold books" shelf got a whole new look and I'm super happy with how that turned out.
Happy Sunday lovelies. I'm in a bit of a reading slump atm. But am trying to get back on track tonight, cause I only have 3 more books on my tbr. Have you guys read your tbr yet? or do you still have a few books left? ________________________________________________________ "There's no point in wishing. We can't change anything about the past. We can only remember. We can only move forward." - Emily X.R. Pan / The Astonishing Color of After
"The silence lent a faint weight to the air. As though I were sitting alone, at the bottom of the sea." -Haruki Murakami / Killing Commendatore ☕️ Happy Monday everyone. Snow season is getting closer and closer. The leaves are already falling and the wearher is becoming more dark & moody. Tbh I always struggle a little with november. Somehow for me it's a really depressing month... my favourite season is slowly leaving, it's getting dark at 4:30pm and days are very grey. I always need time to adjust to it, eventhough I love snow. How are you dealing with grey days?
"That sometimes in life we can't grasp the boundry between reality and unreality. Than boundry always seems to be shifting. As if the border between countries shifts from one day to the next depending on their mood. We need to pay close attention to that movement otherwise we won't know which side we're on." - Haruki Murakami / Killing Commendatore
I finally started my first book in november... After killing commendatore I couldn't get into a new book for a while. But now I'm back, finally.... cause I have some big books on my november tbr. So tonight I will snuggle up, drink some hot cocoa and get some reading done. #bookgeek #book #books 📚 #bibliophile #bookish #bookstagram #booknerd #bookworm #readersofinstagram #booklover #bookdragon #floral #autumn #murakami #greekmythology #pastel #bookstagrammer #reading #flowers #booklife #bookphotography #bookaddict #안녕 #안녕 👋 #bookishfeatures #꽂 #도서관 #도서 #bookshelf

Happy Thursday everyone, have you lit the fall candles already? drank hot chocolate or got the halloween decoration out? I wish fall would never end ☕️🍁
"At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss", carved into the stone. It has three words, but the poet has scratched them out. You cannot read "Loss"... Only feel it."
