Watching our Big Sur project come together. Locally quarried limestone to relate the building to the cliffs it's nestled in, grounded by the warmth of teak flooring. #BigSur #FieldArchCA

A project on the coastline that looks past the rocky cliff that dominates the property - taking its cues instead from the long, constant horizon that marks the edge of the ocean. A sketch for #BigSur

Sentinel Ridge, a home open to the surrounding landscape in so many ways, can also seem to retreat back into the earth at times - in this moment, reclaimed wood and plaster saturate the space with earthy tones and textures. -

In the pages and on the cover of @siliconvalleymag this month, sharing our design process centered on nurturing the uniqueness of place, "like the way a windblown seed finds itself deposited in a crack of a rock - and then suddenly, there's growth in that condition."

It was a thrill watching this story come together - thank you to @lauramauk, who gracefully wove our conversation around our most important design partner - nature; @matthewmillmanphoto, for bringing our projects to life; @evahagbergfisher; and @anh_minh for bringing everything together and into the world. We're so proud of everything you all brought out in this story - be sure to pick up a copy for the full feature.

Conversations at Field happen on the table as often as they do across it. Here, we brought a home together around its most expansive moment - on axis with its private view corridor.

A photo taken from our #Grasslands project site visit. Sometimes it's in the smallest details nature gives us that we find the most inspiration- their delicacy, the richness and concentration of variant tones, and the eternal dynamism of their form as it plays with the wind.
