Meet Eddie. He’s a baby eagle. Possibly baby wren— pretty sure eagle though. Wish him luck cause he’s a fledgling trying to figure out how to be a bird and his fledgling stomping ground is a Yak 55 hangar... suggestions are welcome!
I forgot you can just chop it up— so here’s the full clip. Engine failure after rolling inverted for a belt check. I was in a good spot to lose the engine and was able to get on the ground without any trouble. Going to look at things tomorrow- hopefully it’s an easy mistake and not an expensive failure.
Still the best use for an airplane; inspiring absurd fantasies. Once the engine turns over, the cacophony of noise and destruction begins, beautiful dreams displaced by a monotonous drone and poisoned fumes. We have a long long road still go before our creations can hold a flame to the dreams that inspire them. Be nostalgic not for the technology and shapes of the past, but for the spirit of innovation with which they were created. And move forward with that same spirit.
This contest is a wash for me. My heart is somewhere else and there’s no way to make these machines fly without bringing everything. But I do love being out here. There is nothing more epic than the tension on the grid before a big Unlimited battle.
