Shocked, depressed, scared. We need to look at what happened and figure out what we must change. And we must work harder, faster, and better than ever. We mourn now, but we need to challenge ourselves and the world tomorrow, so we can change it. #notmypresident
1. Don't BUY a new car and not know you like it (the Prius was too low for my 5 foot frame to see cars ahead of me) 2. Because when you do that, you have to trade it in and lose a shit ton of money to buy a new car 3. It's still a hybrid, guys!!
I'm not active on social media, but this is too important a topic to stay silent on. Whether you were on the Hill bandwagon from day one like myself, or are reluctantly for her now, I hope we all can understand that this is more than just about us. If you're throwing away this election because you hate Hillary that much and would rather vote Republican or Independent since a Trump presidency won't impact you much, you are privileged. And most of us do not have that privilege if we are women, POC especially Black, lgbtq, disabled, Muslims, immigrants, refugees, already socioeconomically disadvantaged, other marginalized groups, or a combination of these groups. So VOTE with your brain AND heart this November. Think about your friends - your very diverse, HUMAN friends - and how their lives will be forever altered if you abstain from voting, or if you throw away your vote. If you tell yourself you'll just book a flight to Europe for your abortion if we lose our women's rights here, you are privileged. That's an example of what someone told me, and why Trump winning doesn't matter to her. But what about those of us who can't do that? What then? And if you really hate her that much but are open to respectful, fact based conversation on the topic, I'm very happy to oblige. Or send your friends/acquaintances that fit this description my way, I'll even spot the coffee if they're open to a genuine conversation. I happily and proudly volunteer for her campaign and I know just how much people dislike her, but there's a lot of fiction involved in the reasons why people hate her. My hope is that honest discourse might at least lessen the hate towards her. Now is not the time to wait on the sidelines. There is nothing else more important than this election right now, nothing at all. So do something. Take a stand. Be loud about your support even if you're not entirely proud to have to support her. For those new to team Hill, either because you do like her or are resigned and were forced to choose her... Please volunteer your time and/or donate to the campaign if at all possible. If we stay silent, we will go back 50-100 years, when America was not great for most of us.
