That time when you are all fiercely exhausted from the day you ascended the pulpit after the week from hell when everyone around you decided to up and stop believing women.
So, so much of the sermon prep this week was editing my thoughts and feelings and questions about church, about the world, about patriarchy out of the script and getting the courage to speak with authority so we could all, perhaps, focus on Jesus for a hot second.
I know many of my female colleagues struggled as well.
Sisters, I see you. #riseup
AND, hating that this EVEN has to be said, but YES, this opinion is my own, because I am a person, with thoughts and feelings (so many feelings) and reactions—a citizen even, who does her research and gets to vote and exercises that privilege early and often. No, I don’t represent God’s opinions or the Presbyterian church’s. 💁♀️/end rant.
God bless this amazing pastor and the ministry that will be done in Your name through the many gifts with which you have blessed her. @kewpenn Also, #lifeonlucille lookin’ all snazzy. 💁♀️💁♂️💁♀️💁♀️ @zvd1227 @sjdree
