The Tasmanian tiger, native to Australia, largest carnivorous marsupial known. Extinct since 1930s. Something remarkable though is that since we still have some DNA of this creature left, scientists are currently trying to “bring it back to life”. How insanely cool would that be? And his mouth really does open this wide! #extinctbecauseofyou
I decided to start a new series of illustrations to celebrate the creatures that we have eradicated from our planet. This is a dodo, probably one of the most famous extinct animals. The first mention of it was in 1592 and the last one was in 1662. In less than 100 years we’ve managed to kill every single dodo and destroy its natural habitat #extinctbecauseofyou
Our oceans are home to 80% of life on Earth, yet we take them for granted. We pollute them with 12.8m tonnes of plastic every year, bringing a lot of fish species to the brink of extinction. But it’s not too late to stop this by making better day-to-day decisions. Choose not to be ignorant. Choose to make a difference. Choose to preserve our oceans 🐟 #creativitywithoutbrutality
I must admit that @thepigeonletters Creativity Without Brutality project has made me think about what I draw. I’ve realised that I feel passionate about activism through art (the cool kids call it artivism) and it feels like a natural director to be going in. While I try to figure that out, I’ll be drawing some trash. Literally 🤷🏼♀️
Chickens are often neglected when we talk about animal rights. Maybe because we don’t see them as being as cute as a bunny or a pig, but they are still worthy of a better life. The suffering these creatures go through is immense, and if you would have seen the conditions they are bread in you would probably stop eating their meat. If you do want to learn more about this, watch @earthlinged insta stories where you will see the truth behind chicken farms being shown fairly frequently!
Make up is luxury. It’s shocking that there are still so many beauty companies that carry out animal testing, leaving the poor creatures wounded and in pain. Your beauty should not come at a cost of some else’s suffering. Make better choices. Real beauty is cruelty free. PS it doesn’t help that labelling on beauty products is still so poor. If you’re not sure and there’s no leaping bunny in sight, @peta and @logicalharmony are my go-to resources to use! 🐰
Growing up in a seaside town meant spending a lot of time on the beach. Even back then it was already getting covered in trash, mainly straws and bottles of all sorts. I never understood how could people do that to nature so I would pick the trash up and bin it when I could. Here’s a little reminder that your trash often ends up in the sea. Be mindful. And I’d like to dedicate this illustration to @kristenleo because she’s been cleaning up her local beach (get in touch if you’re in Athens!), plus I enjoy her rants about people not recycling properly 😂 Another one for the wonderful @thepigeonletters project #creativitywithoutbrutality
When I moved to the UK I was shocked at the amount of pre-packaged food, including fruits and veg, and plastic bags around. Packaging that is not necessary. Overtime I grew accustomed to it and it wasn’t until I came across @sustainably_vegan that I began being mindful of my plastic consumption again. Jellyfish, plastic bags, balloons all look like food to a hungry sea turtle, which is one of the reasons why they are dying. We can all make a difference even in little, everyday things. This one is for the lovely @thepigeonletters art project, #creativitywithoutbrutality . PS does anyone get the lyrics reference? 🙈
