The curls are back and so is my article on institutionalised racism. Ladbroke Grove is the mood. Update so far after reviewing the docs: it’s as bad as we thought and it might be worse. I’ll report back with more intel as and when.
Beautiful morning. Today my heart is with everyone who didn’t make it through their mental health issues. It saddens me to think how deeply these issues pervade our society and are still so shockingly overlooked. As well as reaching out to our loved ones to see if they are okay, I think we all need to take some responsibility for constantly reinforcing a narrative that creates more mental health issues in the West than anywhere else in the world. I’m not a communist, but I think we are at the apex of capitalism and the pressure to be the best has supplanted the organic appreciation that we are ‘enough’, by virtue of just being here. Its amazing how simple but powerful that is. The idea that we need do nothing more to be worthy. I’m still learning, and it’s infinitely important to remind ourselves, because everywhere in the world we are told the opposite. The most powerful thing you will ever do is to recognise that the voice that challenges your greatness is a liar. Even if it’s the one in your own head. I PROMISE YOU that you are greater, more wonderful, abundant, unique, loving, and infinite than you will ever understand in his life time. For anyone that needed to hear it today, you are more than enough as you are. Not because I think so, but because it’s an infallible, Godly truth.
Never ever ever stop fighting for the truth. This man is a hero, who will be vilified until the world recognises what it has long been closing its eyes to. Only the truly brave walk through the fire, even if it means being painted in a pejorative light, to reach that end. #imwithkaepernick
