Let me tell y’all about this nice lil Lithuanian treat called Lazy Cake. It’s not really cake but it’s definitely lazy cause you don’t have to worry about baking it! It’s chocolate and biscuit-like cookies that are set in a mold in the refrigerator and then cut into slices that make the perfect snack with the texture of fudge (but less rich) to pair with a coffee😋I loved it so much I bought 3 slices to take home...I’m all for a foodie souvenir!
There is truly no other way I’d wanna start my meal than with a pile of fancy cheeses and fruits...the flavors pair together PERFECTLY! If only they offered this as dessert and not just an appetizer, then we’d really be talkin 😏
After a 4-hour coach ride from Vilnius, we arrived in Riga and of course the first thing I wanted to do was EAT! This skillet of French fries with fried egg, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, and tonssss of melted cheese really hit the spot😋🧀🍳🥓🍟
Happy Fried-day!!! It’s time for me to start spamming y’all with all the wonderful Christmas market eats, starting with these AMAZING beet chips. The sweet flavor of the beet goes perfectly with a sprinkling of salt! I will be having these like every night now😂 (and sorry to anyone who thought this was bacon)
The perfect Thanksgiving dinner! Lamb that practically melts in your mouth baked with gruyere and tomatoes and stacked with phyllo. Turns out Greek food is more than just feta and gyros and I’m a big fan🙌🏼🇬🇷
Thankful for feta cheese...my absolute favorite thing to eat so naturally I ordered a huge block of it doused in olive oil for my appetizer. I didn’t know feta could taste any better til I had it in Greece😅 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Surprisingly enough I actually like the burgers better in Europe than in America. @hans_im_glueck_burgergrill is the best because they have lots of interesting toppings, and my favorite is this one with caramelized pears, blue cheese, and walnuts. Sounds weird but tastes PERFECT🍔🍟😋
It’s not a holiday without a cooking disaster! So let’s talk about my Baked Camembert with pumpkin apple jam and toasted pecans. I’ve made this dish a bunch of times but with Brie and puff pastry, not Camembert and pie crust but I had to work with what I found in German grocery stores. As you can probably see it’s supposed to bake in a perfect little round pastry but instead it decided to explode on me and melt everywhere😂😂😂Thank goodness I was just cooking for my Mom and me and it still tasted amazing, but next time I’m serving it cold like in the first picture😅
My mom and I will be in Greece for Thanksgiving (life is so rough, I know) so we celebrated early!! Turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, Grandma’s biscuits, kartoffelknödel (German potato dumplings to rep our current residence), and stuffing courtesy of @bonappetitmag. We killed it this year👏🏼💪🏼 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!
