High fives for a pretty chill week of work. Cause I know next week with the holiday coming I’m bracing myself. Over 50 dogs that week that need to be taken care of when at work. And my mantra to get me through the crazy “I love dogs, I love dogs” #takemetomyhappyplace
Best trail dog around. I don’t know if Goose is the best, but he is the best to me. He knows not to wander off, he checks in constantly and he listens to me when I tell him not to drink nasty stagnant water, he knows rattlesnakes are a no, no. And To top things off yesterday he got some cholla in his paw, well he is normally good about getting it out but he got overzealous and the cholla did get out of his paw but it then ended up in his lip/chin. Instead of freaking out I told him to leave it and wait. He did. Very calmly he stood there waiting for me to come over. Cholla hanging off his chin and all. I got the cholla out and we went along our way. It doesn’t seems like a big deal but if you have ever dealt with cactus and dogs getting into the cactus the spines are not a good thing. Thankfully he trusted me enough to stand still and wait for me to hike down the trail and save him.
What makes your trail dog the best to you?
Sometimes going on any “epic” adventures gets a backseat. Being a grown up means doing grown up things like working early in the am then coming home to irrigate the property. But it doesn’t mean I’m alone and it doesn’t mean we didn’t have a great time. #lifeisanadventure
Where do you find your happiness? I’m pretty easy to please and my equation to happiness is simple. I just need my family, my dog, to be outdoors (preferably enjoyable weather and scenery) and to have little to no other humans around me. Easy enough right? #gregorytribe
