@cocowhip is my one true love 💗 PLEASE COME TO NZ
I love birthdays because it gives me an excuse to make something YUM 😋 I can’t make a pretty cake to save myself but I reckon they’re always pretty tasty 😎 today I made dad a healthier carrot cake with a recipe from @amyshealthybaking 🙌 finished it off with some not so healthy cream cheese icing but that’s the meaning of balance 😏 went a bit wild with the pink food colouring too 💁♀️ @whittakersnz sea salt caramel on top was amazing, will defo be making this one again!!
I have never seen so many gelato places in one area and i am LIVING for it 👌 @gelatoblue thank you for bearing me with your dairy free gelato, it’s literally amazing ❤️ and @gelatissimogelato thank you for the best flavour I have ever eaten (salted macadamia) ‼️ I don’t know how I’m going to cope at home knowing I won’t see a different gelato store every two seconds 😭😭
Loves a good jump shot pic 😎 How good is Sydney though??!!!
DUD: Starting to miss my favourite lil vegetarian cafe @potpourrivegetarian ❣️ love forcing dad to try vegetarian cafes and watch him realise they aren’t so bad after all 🤔 I got a vege tart which was yummy and dad got a samosa which was also yum 😋 my fav thing though was the choco banana smoothie, was heaven for this lil banana fiend 🍌
WLG: This Saturday me and mum visited @qilinteahouse for brekkie 🍴I got the granola bowl, which included puffed quinoa, lots of yummy fruit, some edible flowers 🌷 and a coconut yoghurt panna cotta 😍the presentation was super nice and it tasted as good as it looked 😋 Mum went light with the pear and ginger cake and that was also v yummy 🍰 There was also on tap kombucha which made ya girl v happy, one of the nicest kombuchas I’ve ever had too!! Will definitely be back, lovely spot with good food and prices
CHCH: Dreaming of this beautiful poke bowl from @sushisoldier at the @littlehigheatery 😍😍 had everything a girl could ever want, ALL the goods and I mean ALL - avo, two types of rice, ginger, all the veges, teriyaki salmon, seaweed & salad 😋 WHAT A MEAL 👌 and it was v decently priced too
WLG: Last Saturday mum and I popped into @willis.kitchen for some brunch pre the Go Green Expo ♻️ I got the acai bowl and mum ordered the hotcakes of the week which were acai too 🥞I always love an acai bowl and this was no exception, the granola and fresh fruit was a winnnn!! And mum loved her pancakes too 😋The prices were really good, and there was an extensive amount of vegan options (both me and mums meals were available vegan) -perfect for students and vegan diets 😇 We loved and will definitely be back ❤
Last week dad and I embarked on a roadie up from dunners back to welly 🚗 On day two we stopped in Kaikoura and ate up large 🤤 For a hangry 1pm brekkie we went to @hislopscafe and it was lovely ⭐️ I ordered the homemade muesli (classic) and dad ordered a chicken tostada which were both yum 😋 Dads next port of call was a whitebait fritter sammy from a food truck down the road 🐟 pretty sure he considers himself a whitebait fritter connoisseur, he can’t go passed without trying literally anywhere we go 🤷♂️ For an afternoon shnack we went for some DELISH real fruit ice cream, portion sizes were a dream 😇😍
And the year in dunners has come to an end 😱😱 it has been a stunning year of eats in this beaut lil city but it’s time to head back to welly for a couple of months 💨🌪 Our final dunners meal was from coffee culture this morning ☕️ I got the granola with some yog and soy milk + a booch and dad got a bacon and egg rosti + a raspberry muffin ❣️ all was yum, and the service was great as always !! 👉 As much as I hate leaving Dunedin, I can’t wait to go home and do some solid cooking n baking with the rents boujee ingredients 🤩🤩 BRING ON THE BREAK
Last nights dinner was the yummiest vege fritters! I love this dinner because it reminds me of summer and fam BBQs ☀️☀️ but i also love this dinner because of how cheap it is, while still being really good for you. These vege fritters were made with value frozen veggies, a bit of onion, an egg, a lil flour, and curry power, cajun and chilli spice for flavour!! This is honestly one of the quickest, easiest and cheapest meals you can make as a student, whether you’re cooking for the flat or just yourself, and you can obvs jazz it up in so many different ways with what veggies and spices you chuck in. If this isn’t one of ya regs i highly suggest getting on board!!
I have been more then slack on the gram recently and I’m vvvv sorry but its study grind time 🤓 and unfortunately that means technology detox (kinda, not really) but study is taking over life atm, but only 2 more weeks to goooooo ‼️Super excited to be off home in two weeks and to get back home, will be able to cook and make so many yummy things 😋 but for now its the classic student foodie-ing 😭🤓 This yum lil feta and spinach filo was from @thegoodearthcafenz and swipe for the banana, kombucha smoothie (w a reusable straw ofc) ❤
Hump day dinner this week was the all time go-to @the_jitsu 🍣🍱🥢 (again plz note the chicken katsu is defo not mine but it looked v pretty) I got salmon sushi and @_queenieyong got the chicken katsu and some miso soup 🥣 Tried to not be basic and ate my sushi with some wasabi, literally think I could hack the whole wasabi on sushi game now 😎 it was dlow really good!! As always we left promising we’ll be back asap 😋
How GOOD is some pretty looking sushi?? That doesn’t come in a plastic container ❣️ (This sushi was not mine hence the chicken pieces but a girl can still admire 🤷♀️) Me and my flattie went to Sushi Break in Rosedale and it was beautifulllllllll, so many options it was insane !!! If you’re Auckland I highly recommend 😋🍣
This week we were lucky enough to try out a cool lil local business!! @farmfreshsouth are based just out of gore and offer milk deliveries to the local community. The milk they produce is fresh, raw and unprocessed. Even though i personally don’t drink dairy milk (not very good with lots of dairy and esp in milk), for anyone who does i definitely recommend trying this out!! Myself, my flatmates and a few of our friends all tried it out and we all honestly noticed a difference - the milk was a lot creamier!!! It made for really good coffees and hot chocolates ☕️ (so I’m told, I only had a little go because I’m just generally scared of dairy milk 😬) But, in saying this, Logan, one of the owners let me know that he has found quite a few people with dairy intolerances are actually able to handle his milk!! Im not 100% sure and i don’t want to make any false claims but i have seen before that a lot of times people who react to dairy react to what is put in it when it is being processed, not the raw product itself. When i tried it, i had absolutely no reaction, but to be fair I only had a couple of sips. Also, the other thing i ❤️ about this business is they deliver the milk in glass bottles, and recollect them on their next run, so no wastage whatsoever!!!! Ideal!! So if you’re a milk fiend, i highly suggest checking this cool lil business out 🥛
After all of you’re recommendations we defs had to go @theunbakery while in AKL and was not disappointed!!! It was just so my kind of fooood, i got a quinoa super salad and a yum booooch 😋 wish I had gotten one of the slices because they looked boootiful but I was trying to be a lil money conscious 😅 still a student after all 💁♀️
Ummmmmm loooook at this beautiful lil carrot cake muffin from @dunedinairport 😍😍 it was massive and decently priced for an airport ✈️ finally getting out of Dunedin for a couple of days (love u dunners but ready for some non-student food and warmth) Can’t wait for some good food and to see @asaprocky & @skeptagram LIVE 🤩🤩🤩
