Your head is not meant to turn 180 degrees because there’s no reason to keep looking back. Keep your eyes ahead, on the glorious future awaiting you, and on everything good that is coming to you. Because I’m speaking it into existence right now - good things are coming. Fucking get pumped.
Finally brought out this coat and boots again as the high is 44 degrees in Atlanta today. I love the colder weather, but it makes me want to stay in bed, snuggle, and watch Netflix all day... alas, I’m on that hustle and grind kind of life.
Persistence is key to success in any endeavor. Nothing worth having comes easy. When you begin a new journey, expect it to be hard. Expect to get discouraged want to throw in the towel a half dozen times (or more). And then remember why you started. Remember that you have a goal and it’s worth fighting for. Refuse to be a quitter. The only real time you fail is when you give up trying to succeed.
There is beauty in the depth of your pain. It is proof of the strength of your love. ❤️
I’ve been taking classes at The Actor’s Boutique for the past few months with @rickhearst. Bless him, I’m a handful sometimes. 😆 The class stretches me to safely fail at going deeper into characters and into myself. It’s not always a “fun” experience, per say, but it’s an opportunity for growth, and I’m determined to keep pushing myself to get better. Never stop learning, never stop evolving. Can’t wait to get back at it in class tonight!
You are so much more than your mistakes. You are more than your traumas. You are a human being, whole and still growing, still learning. You have goals and dreams, hobbies and passions, quirks and gifts, and all of those are so much more who you are than the misfortunes you have endured. Don’t let them define you. Don’t let them become your most told stories. The most important parts of you are the ones that light up your face and soul.
Hello, my love.
Things may be a little rough right now, and that’s okay. Life is full of ups and downs and it wouldn’t be an adventure if you never faced adversity. It wouldn’t be worth it at the end to say you’ve won if there was never any challenge.
I’m here to encourage you in a different way today. I’m here to remind you that someone adores the shit out of you. Someone admires you. Someone looks at you and wishes they were just a little more like you. Someone smiles when they think of you. Someone is grateful to have you in their life.
You are someone’s inspiration to keep going. You are someone’s favorite person. You are treasured and valued by someone, even if they’re too uncomfortable to say it to you directly. You are the light in someone’s darkness. You are someone’s favorite text.
You have made an impact on people’s lives. When the struggle gets overwhelming and you feel like giving up, remember that you matter. You’ve made a difference. And let that empower you to get back up one more time and try again. I believe in you. I always have. ❤️
“Find people who can handle your darkest truths, who don’t change the subject when you share your pain, or try to make you feel bad for feeling bad. Find people who understand we all struggle, some of us more than others, and that there’s no weakness in admitting it. Find people who want to be real, however that looks and feels, and who want you to be real too. Find people who get that life is hard, and get that life is also beautiful, and who who aren’t afraid to honor both of those realities. Find people who make you feel more at home in your heart, mind and body, and who take joy in your joy. Find people who love you for real and who accept you for real. Just as you are. They’re out there, these people. Your tribe is waiting for you. Don’t stop searching until you find them.” - Scott Stabile
Every time I read this, it lights a fire under me. It is so much easier to ignore discomfort, but by doing so, you let the thing causing it to control you. You can never move forward. You can’t grow. No one ever found greatness in their comfort zone. The things that will truly exhilarate you are just beyond your fears.
Seriously - the best things you’ll ever experience always make you feel scared, anxious, and uncomfortable at first. Only at first though. Then they become the memories you cherish forever and the experiences you never forget.
Got a few new photos from @non_disclosures of working on @_haunting! This picture is from the mind-blowing episode 6, most of which was filmed in 5 one-shot sequences. It was an impressive filmmaking endeavor. I just finished watching the show this week (I was slacking, I know), so tell me what you guys thought of the show if you’ve seen it! 💕
PS: someone told me as I should have gone as Theo for Halloween, and I will probably never forgive myself for my horrific lapse in judgment.
Okay, fam, it’s Self-Care Sunday! May your day be uplifting, blessed, fun, and full of healing. You deserve a day to yourself, where you don’t have to cater to anyone else’s expectations. You just do whatever you want, whatever fulfills you. Give yourself that day. Rejuvenate your soul and your whole life becomes brighter.
And if you’re like me and you do not get today to take to yourself, plan it into your schedule for another day. Self-Care Sunday is a lovely ideal, but the emphasis is the self-care, not the day it falls on. 😉
If you only love someone when you’re with them, did you ever really love them?
If you only love someone when they meet your expectations, did you ever really love them?
If you only love someone when they’re fulfilling your needs, did you ever really love them?
If you only love someone when it’s easy to love them, did you ever really love them?
If you only love someone when they love you, did you ever really love them?
If you love someone with any kind of stipulation attached to it, is that real love?
This is the quote that has been at the forefront of my mind over the last few days. I’ve been really trying to identify what I want in life, what I need, and how to find the balance of achieving everything within my given circumstances.
Just being honest with yourself about what you really want can be hard. But then you need to go back and ask yourself - is what I want actually what I need? Is it good for me?
And then to have the courage to build your life around your answer... that requires taking an honest look at where you are, what you’re doing, and seeing if it’s really serving your overall goals. And if not, it means change. Change is neither easy nor comfortable. Oftentimes, it is downright terrifying.
So what is really important to you? Truly, what makes you happiest? People? Career? Hobbies? Travel? Does your life reflect what is most important to you? Does it fulfill you? If not, how can you change that? You only get one life. Don’t waste it in misery, coasting by. Be active in crafting your own happiness. The power is yours to take whenever you’re done settling for the hand you were dealt. You can’t control where you start, but you can control where you quit.
Yesterday, I took several hours to sit in the park and recenter myself. I’m doing the same thing again today. Coffee (I will always ❤️ you, @wawa), a journal, and the chaos in my mind. I’ve found myself to be extremely scattered lately, struggling to focus on the things I should be, struggling to find the motivation to do the things I need to. Being in a positive environment and organizing myself has helped a lot already. Sometimes you need that - places and people that make you feel comfortable and safe to explore the inner workings of your mind. Don’t be afraid to take that time for yourself when you start getting overwhelmed. ❤️
