Happy FALL! 🍂 Reminiscing back to when I was preggo with baby Crew. We didn’t know his name was going to be Crew...my husband picked that on his birth-day. This is back in October 2016. I was preparing for a VBAC with him. Mentally, physically and emotionally, consistently preparing, every single day. Little did I know how much I needed that training and preparation for what we’d endure with our children’s health following suit.

My updates on here have been far and few between lately because as some of you know we’ve picked up a new gig. Our Snap-on Franchisee has been operating for a month now 🙌🏼 I’m working part time side by side with my man in our truck en route. While also working the backend business full time, managing our household and keeping up with our children’s dietary restrictions, plus trying to share our story to help encourage others!

With what has been the MOST stressful, anxiety producing, chaotic and messy time in our lives has brought the most HEALING. When the odds have been against us we have persevered with holistic & natural ways of taking care of our bodies. Thank you to the Lord for our strength through all of this, seriously, because A LOT of times Ive cried in desperation wanting to just have it easier, I didn’t ask for these allergies and I’d love to be able to just pick up dinner at the drive thru on those chaotic days. But I can’t because my children will suffer. And miraculously day by day the endurance to keep up with these demands was delivered.

We’ve transitioned to a mostly Whole Foods diet, cutting out gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, shitty oil and so much more. (I’ll always add this caveat, yes my hubs and I have days we indulge out on special occasions, but I refuse to bring those products into my cabinet and fridge). Plus most recently I’ve minimized the amount of meat we consume. I never thought I’d be VEGAN, but I’m seriously considering it after this huge friggin win!!!!!!! Listen up!

Get this: my husband has dealt with high blood pressure all his life (it’s hereditary right 🤔🙄, don’t believe that ish, no matter what your ailments are you can heal, your body does not attack itself it wants to thrive and rejuvenate) well we took him off his medication over a year ago and have been trying to manage it naturally. It’s been like 145/95 most times its checked. Today it was 118/80. Are you kidding me???? This man has been so stressed with the weight of the world on his shoulders...and his blood pressure has dropped??!! [🔽comments]

ONE WHOLE MONTH OF CELERY JUICE and 3 months of a whole foods lifestyle and we’re finally starting to see major IMPROVEMENT in his eczema🙏🏼

Okay we missed a couple days BUT supplemented with cucumber juice. So it’s been an entire month of juicing fresh celery and or cucumber EVERY SINGLE MORNING on an empty stomach for this little dude.

He literally wakes up and demands CELERY JUICE. If you’ve never heard a one year old scream for celery juice you’re missing out. It’s pretty adorable 😍

Crew is 22 months old. I started him the first two days with 8oz of celery + apple juice (not from the store...this is fresh/raw ORGANIC or farmers market celery & apples blended and strained to only get the juice). Then moved to straight celery juice...I slowly increased it over the first week. He now drinks anywhere from 10oz to 16oz depending on his needs. Some mornings he asks for more and others he’s done at 10oz. I let him and his body tell me what it needs.

I started this process with my @vitamix. I was blending and straining through a milk bag every morning for three weeks. Time consuming? Yup. Worth it? Absolutely. But then I did decide to upgrade to a @breville juicer, we’re on a budget, but this juicer was reasonably priced and it’s so AMAZING! I’m so stoked on this new kitchen appliance 😍

We’ve chosen to heal naturally and holistically from the inside out to treat his bloody horrific eczema. Check out @medicalmedium post on CELERY 101 to understand why we’re doing this. I’ll also be posting more details soon about the other supplements we’ve added to his diet with the help and guidance of our naturopathic DR @drelanaroumell we’re working with on healing gut issues + food allergies + his eczema. Seriously I’m so OBSESSED with this cheese sauce. I can’t stop thinking about all the things I can use it with...mac-n-cheese, nachos with my @sietefoods tortilla chips, cheesy broccoli, a Taco Bell creation at home😉(my weakness...why?! No idea) loaded potatoes and so much more 🤤 The consistency is sooo much so just like a real cheese dip. 🥔🥔🥔
Did you know this about potato’s?
“Potatoes are high in potassium and rich in vitamin B6, as well as a fantastic source of amino acids, especially lysine in its bioactive form. Nacho cheese sauce:
1 large potato, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup steaming water or vegetable stock

To make the sauce, add a couple of inches of water to a medium-sized pot and place a steaming basket in it. Add the diced potato and carrot, cover and cook for 25-30 minutes until soft. Remove from heat and set the steaming water aside. .
Place the cooked potatoes and carrots in a blender with turmeric, garlic powder, cayenne, lemon juice, sea salt, pepper and the steaming water. Blend until very smooth. Recipe and info from @medicalmedium

Happy Saturday & first day of September! 🍁🍃🍂 this is one of my most favorite months...it’s my birthday month 💁🏻‍♀️ it’s also the beginning of fall and I’ve recently found a renewed sense of myself. I feel like this season is going to be a good one.

I’ve been practicing letting go of things that are beyond my control. I’ve been learning to surrender to the journey that I’m on. I’m relinquishing the control that the perfectionism syndrome haunted me with. I don’t care to amount to what society makes me feel like I should be anymore. I choose to acknowledge the fact that I can NOT do it all. I’m not perfect and I don’t want to be.

What matters to me is the success, health and well being of my children, my husband and myself. God. My family + friends. Establishing and building a business that can be a legacy for our children. Growing and learning within the health and wellness industry. Being a good human and raising polite, positive, happy members of society. Everything else can take a backseat.

What doesn’t matter to me is what I look like on the outside to those only viewing me from the outside. Unmade bed, finger prints on all the windows and mirrors, yesterdays snacks in the car seats. Y’all can love me with my greasy hair under a hat, my mom shirts hiding the cleavage I once thought was sexy and sneakers I purchased before I had kids because I’m totally okay with not going shopping for myself and I’d rather take my time meal prepping fresh healthy foods instead. I can’t name a popular hit song on the radio, a TV show actor, what movies are playing in the theaters or what happened on the nightly news to save my life. But I can tell you all about genes, epigentics, the role food plays into the functioning of your brain and body, how viruses and bacteria’s are causing the disease crisis were in today and the foods that breed illnesses. 🤘🏻
But it’s because I’m choosing to embrace this season I’m in and not give in to the pressure society puts on us moms to do it all and know it all. Sayonara. Putting my focus where I believe it should be.

We’re avoiding like the plague: canola oil (amongst a couple others as well), gluten/wheat, eggs, dairy, soy, artificial sweeteners, MSG, farmed raised fish and grain fed meat of any kind. Were trying to limit as best as possible now artificial and natural flavorings and corn.

We tried @sprouts DELIVERY last week and let me tell you 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 how much time it saved me to have someone else shop for me. The ONLY downfall is that if something is not in stock they will replace it with something else but you can either approve or deny the change. Busy moms I’m telling to check out @instacart and see if it’s available in your area!

Yup I wear this shirt all the time. Mostly because I’m a mom and I’m lucky if I get to shower and brush my teeth. But also as a reminder through it all that we are undoubtedly blessed. 
Most nights we’re up with this babe late because he is in pain, scratching and itching. It’s bloody and raw. It feels like we have a newborn again...we’ve lost massive amounts of sleep. We’re not ourselves. My mental state is completely off.

One morning I woke up to Crew’s pajamas stuck to his wounds like glue. I had to soak him in a bath just to get them off of him. Trying not to rip his fragile healing skin.

We’re now having to wrap him in bandages, put long socks over it then pajamas on top. Every nap, every bedtime, every day. This way he has 3 layers of protection to hopefully stop the continuous damage he is inflicting on himself. No matter if your using natural remedies or steroids they wear off and when that happens the itching is uncontrollable. If you’ve ever heard about #eczema or #psoriasis it feels like poison ivy and ants crawling over you at all times.

We got these specially infused socks made just for kids with eczema. We finally wore shorts today because of these socks. But they’re  not adorable by any means and certainly don’t measure up to the Instagram pictures standards.

Someone at the store commented on them and I’m sure they meant it with every positive intention. But I took it so hard.
.
Those socks are NOT cool. Those socks are covering bloody wounds, late tortuous  nights, so many tears and questions like if I’m doing the right things for my baby.

I cried in the store yesterday while picking out bandages for my son.
.
Some days I wish things were better but I’m quickly reminded that no matter the struggles, we still have each other. We’re absolutely blessed. We may not know or understand the plan set for us, but I choose to pray that I continue to trust in the path and journey set before us, for strength and acknowledgement to Him to straighten it out when the time is ready.

The reason I’m an #activist for this #alternative #healthy lifestyle is because my children are suffering from #chronicillnesses in which I KNOW are a direct reflection of past #vaccines and past food choices, #epigenetics mostly. I screwed up big time in the past, I was not informed and I chose to turn my head because I wasn’t ready to face the facts. Until I realized enough was enough. I decided I wanted to help create a generation of people who desire to live long healthy lives.

I fight this fight because I care about the health and well being of my children, my family members, friends and even strangers. I pray that just one piece of information could be passed to someone in need to be able to know that they can control the destiny of their life + children’s lives. We are not to be controlled by...BS government organizations that claim to have our best interest. Because they don’t. .
The truth of our children’s generation is this:

It’s been over 8 weeks...yes EIGHT since this family has had anything to do with  TOMATOES. Crew had serious allergic reactions to tomato. When they even just touched his skin he would break out in hives all around his mouth and of course it would exacerbate his skin issues as well, days and weeks later.

Matt and I have tried to sneak them onto our tacos here and there when Crew isn’t around but that was slim to none. And of course I felt guilty about it every time 😭We simply can NOT eat foods that we desire when our kids are around. They want what we have...so this allergy thing is not only for our kids but it’s also how we have to eat too. 🍅
Needless to say I’ve been craving pasta sauce like a mad woman. So I went on a search for a NO TOMATO pasta sauce that the whole family could enjoy.
I know soooo un-Italian of me. But I do what I got to do for my kids ❤️

You guys this NOMATO pasta sauce was so delicious and PACKED FULL OF VEGGIES! I threw it on top of some spaghetti squash I had cooked up last weekend.
🍠🥕🍝
1 chopped onion
4 cups chopped sweet potatoes
2 cups carrots 
@kettleandfire chicken mushroom bone broth
Splash of balsamic vinegar + lemon juice
Olive oil
Salt + peppa’
Fresh chopped garlic 4-5 cloves
1 can beets
Handful of fresh basil
Couple tablespoons of oregano + parsley
Cream of tarter

I added the onions, sweet potato, carrots, bone broth, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic & other seasonings to a crock pot until super tender. Then I used an immersion blender to blend it all up!

The beets and basil I immersion blended separate and then added to the rest of the sauce. This added that bright red color! The key is fresh seasonings, more garlic & salt + pepper to cover the taste of the sweet potatoes. Overall so delish, I’m hooked and so is Crew + Daddy! 🙌🏼
