It takes 264 crossings of the Williamsburg Bridge to reach an elevation gain equal to climbing Mount Everest. @austinhorse has been at it since Sunday morning and he's almost there! Send him some kudos or if you're in NYC, maybe bring him a snack.

When it is cold outside a certain question comes to my mind: how to keep your tempo and ride with comfort ? ❄️💁🏻‍♀️ I cleared certain tips for myself a while ago and I want to share them with you:
1. Clothing 🧤
A full set of winter clothing can at first seem like a large expense, but choosing carefully and layering up can give you a range of clothing to suit a range of temperatures.
2. Food and drink🍽
Keep drinking regularly too! 👍It may not be obvious that you are sweating under all that clothing, but fluid loss happens when cycling at any temperature😫
If the temperature is really cold, then mix your drink with hot or warm water to stave off the chilling effect, at least for a while🤩
3. Lights!! 🙌
Having lights with you at all times also relieves the worry that you will get caught in the dark during shorter days🌌
Make sure that your lights are charged (or you have fresh batteries) before every ride☝️
4. Tyres 🚲
I’d opt for tyres that offer a degree of puncture protection and are harder wearing. Continental Gatorskins are a perennial favourite for winter riding, but many other tyre manufacturers offer similar models. They don’t stop all punctures, but every little helps.
5. Be prepared🤟
You may have specific requirements for the ride you are going on. Make sure you plan a sensible route to match the predicted weather forecast, take a (charged) phone with you, some money in case of emergencies and take heed of the advice listed above 🤑
Think of the worst possibility and be prepared – within reason… I don’t recommend towing a workstand or oil-filled radiator around with you😑

Ever wonder what @richie_porte's training rides look like? We went to Tasmania to find out! The past couple of days we've been shadowing the @bmcproteam rider in some of the most dramatic and inspiring terrain we've seen. Photo from our mate @beardmcbeardy.

This is my lovely Mash Work Frameset from . This Columbus steel frame was developed in close partnership with the cult racer, bike messenger and adventurer Chas Christiansen 👨Chas travels extensively as well as racing alleycats, criteriums and cyclocross events🚴‍♂️Chas set CInelli the challenge to create a frame that would service all of these diverse needs, so the MASH Work was born🚲😍
Personally I adore this frameset for its simplicity, perfect forms and for its name 🤪
How do you like it?❓❓

Sometimes we need to find a balance in our life. In fact I have 10 ideas for practicing self-care 🙋‍♂️
Physical 💪🏻
1. Go for a ride🚴‍♂️
2. Dance with your bike
3. Hike with your bike
4. Get a hug (with your bike 🤪)
5. Take a bath with bubbles (without your bike 😂)
Mental 🙏
1. Read a book
2. Learn a new skill in biking
3. Turn your phone off
Emotional 👁
1. Meditate
2. Go on a date
3. Write down a list of things you’re grateful for 👍
Which of this points are acceptable for you❓❓❓
