I’m in #phoenixaz this week. If anyone knows some friendly AD’s to stop in on let me know. I was thinking of hitting up @azfinetime But I’m open to other suggestions.
In other obvious news, cactus are sharp and my fingers paid the price for this one.
Twice since picking up the #haliosseaforth#gmt I have been asked my thoughts regarding it vs. #rolex#216570 so here we go:
First off the case lugs and shape are different. The drilled lugs do bring back a bit of feel of early serial #16570 but drilled lugs are a hallmark of vintage sport watches. The crystal prominence has a distinct vintage flare closer to a BB58, something again that is a hallmark of 60’s divers. The bezel design on the Seaforth rotates as opposed to a fixed bezel on the polar Explorer. Additionally the date window is 6 vs 3. The Halios has a different handset though the orange accent of the GMT hand does bear a resemblance.
I think it’s only natural to draw comparisons in today’s market if you release a White dialed, steel bezeled GMT sports watch, but after two weeks on my wrist, I can comfortably say that the Halios stands on its own design.
