After much thought and deliberation, we have made the decision to change the name of our page from Mama Marlee to Cochran’s Creek Labradors. When we originally selected the name, I knew in my heart that there would come a day when it would be painful to see the name pull up on the screen, however I did not know that it would be SO soon and under such unfortunate circumstances. This does not mean that we are forgetting about Marlee. Marlee is the foundation behind this page and one of the reasons why we feel so strongly about this breed. The change of name is allowing us to find closure and continue Marlee’s legacy in a more positive light. We began this journey by celebrating Marlee’s birth, but it will not end with her. We are delighted that we are able to continue sharing our story with Georgia (our precious black lab). Cochrans Creek is where we will be building a life for our family and hopefully raising more Labrador puppies in the near future. Thank you all for your support during this challenging time. Your kind words and stories shared have been crucial to the healing process. ❤️ (the labs pictured are all Marlee’s growing babies)
This journey that we have shared with you was supposed to be filled with happiness, joy, and at time hardship. Currently, hardship would be an understatement. As I am regretfully saddened, it has taken me a few days to conjure up the words for this post. On Sunday afternoon, our precious Marlee passed away after being hit by a car. We are still at a loss for words. Our caring, playful, fun-loving Marlee was also strong headed. While at our property which is fetched in, we trusted her to know her boundaries and not to stray. I am telling you this in hopes that you will take more caution than we did. Do not trust your beloved pet to know where the fence ends and danger begins. As it is much too painful, please give us time to allow our hearts to heal before we add more posts to this page. Although we are broken and mending, we have included pictures of our beautiful Georgia in remembrance to be thankful that we are not alone and must give her extra love and attention as she is missing her best friend and sister.
