#tbt to #projectdividale and my favourite pair of chairs we ever dreamt up. I mean that frame...that fabric. I still wish they were mine lol.

Kids are off to school and the pretty morning light is streaming in the front door...house is so quiet and still. First coffee and then hopefully going to put a dent in my large work/life β€˜get done before Christmas’ list...including maybe buying an actual present or two...just a tad behind on that front.😬🎁

This little room...most definitely my sweet favourite. πŸ–€
.
In terms of actual reno, it wasn’t crazy in here. @island_innovation removed the built in headboards that were there previously, installed the new floors and painted every part of it white. This room was actually the first one to get painted and set off a little back and forth from me about how much was eventually going to end up white. I pride myself on being pretty damn decisive and what to paint and not to paint in this cottage was like a ping pong game of doubt lol. Keep the old wood or change to something new??? In the end...super happy with where that all netted out, with a little of both.πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
.
As for the decor goodness...the beds were a FB marketplace find from a town about an hour north of Toronto....and were then driven out to PEI. Hot tip re: antiques...if what you find is perfect and a great price, sometimes you have to be willing to travel a bit to get it lol. πŸš— The bedding and curtains are @ikeacanada and all the blankets/accessories and light fixture are @homesensecanada. The watercolour shown in the first pic is a vintage watercolour my parents bought for me from the cutest little antique shop just down the road from our cottage. And on the other wall, my beloved @stephanievovas @doralove_ that again, took a road trip to the island. Oh and those beds...the most comfortable EVER thanks to the sweetest mattresses of all time from @endy. πŸ›
.
The full blog reveal of @cordial.house will be live as of 9am, and linked above. πŸ‘†πŸ»For now, slide right for before shots and a vid capture of the very first white paint to hit our #cordialhouse walls.βšͺ️

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be posting the full main floor reveal of @cordial.house on the blog and as part of that, will be so happy to feature the work of the incredibly talented @elissabarberart. It seemed fitting then, that for this week’s #sundayartstroll, I showcased this artist’s beautiful work a little more. If you’re familiar with Elissa’s portfolio, you know that all of her line drawings are done continuously, which means with one non-stop line. She creates magically modern portraits and figure drawings without ever lifting her pen from paper. If you haven’t already seen this brilliance in action, I highly recommend watching her stories...it’s positively mesmerizing to watch. πŸ’«
.
I am the very proud owner of a pair of Elissa’s face drawings, and a beautiful painting from her @osprestudio (shown here,), where she hand paints the reverse side of glass with liquid gold leaf then layers them over digital prints. So so beautiful!!!! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
.
More of my favourites are up on stories and highlights. πŸ–€

The main floor bathroom at @thecordialhouse πŸ–€
.
I had planned on doing the full reveal today but thirty million to-dos and meetings have popped up so Monday for that....promise, promise.βž•
.
In the meantime, here’s little peak at the main bathroom, now looking very sweet and pretty.βž•
.
As for the before...the sliders show what that looked like before me and @island_innovation got our hands on it. To start, all the plumbing had to be re-worked so we could have an actual shower and so that the fancy tapware I bought on amazon/FB mkt could be installed. After that and all the demo was done, the bathroom was waterproofed and new tile installed. The subway in the shower was leftover from when we did our kitchen a few years ago. If you remember, I had purchased 800sq feet of it only to later find out that the rounded corner pieces were a slightly different white and the stuff I had bought couldn’t be returned. So...very happy we found a place to use it here. On the floor is 2” hex I bought on the island. Next we painted the entire room (which took like a zillion coats,) in BM White Dove and epoxied the tub. It’s hard to see in the before shots but it was actually a lovely shade of pale pistachio so rather than ripping it out, we painted. The tub is small and finding one that size would have been hard...and would have cost so much more in demo etc. The epoxy was $60. Then, the old vanity was replaced with a vintage pie table my parents bought for me, with my new favourite matte stone sink from @wayfaircanada. And aside from all of that, we sprayed a whole bunch of accessories brass to match the faucets....including the plastic exposed plumbing. And then it was all about finishing it off with some pretty little accessories etc. Oh and the toilet was original to the bathroom.βž•
.
The entire reno (not including labour,) was less than $1000 so pretty happy about that. It’s not huge but functional, airy and charming af I think:)βž•
.
Again, the full reveal will be up first thing Monday. Thinking maybe I’ll do just the after picture reveal with a little backstory and then do additional before/after posts of each room in detail. Stay tuned:) βž•

Thanks to @styleathome for selecting my old kitchen for their story today about @pantone’s Colour of the Year. πŸŽ€
.
According to the article, β€˜Living Colour’ was chosen in reaction to the onslaught of digital technology/social media, environmental concerns and woman’s rights. πŸ™ŒπŸ»
.
Along with the selection backstory, the article also gives plenty of suggestions as to how best incorporate this vibrant colour in decor. πŸ‘πŸ»
.
With this space, we styled the coral with blush pink and deep burgundy. If I was using today, I’d go with pale lavender, blush taupe, nude and/or a grey’d violet...the later especially,..that combo is just so so pretty.

Just over a month ago, I got the chance to experience a fun little getaway weekend with @genesismotorsca. βž•
.
I had been planning a trip with friends for Halloween so when I found out I’d be able to drive the new #genesismotorsca #genesisg70 to my destination, I was of course all over that business. And believe you me, did this car ever not disappoint. The controls and layout are just so thoughtfully elegant and the tactile response, unbelievably good. In combo with the innovative tech and beauty of the car, it just made for such an amazing driving experience...even when dealing with bad weather and Montreal roads/traffic lol (love that city to the moon but hate driving there). βž•
.
I got to spend a night at the beautiful @hotelwilliamgray, enjoyed some spa loveliness and ended up at the coolest Halloween party that maybe ever was. And then the next day, I enjoyed a ridiculously delicious brunch, before getting back to my beautiful car, and heading home. βž•
.
A full recap of my weekend away in this gorgeous car is up on the blog so click the link in my bio to see more:) And if you’re in the market for some shiny new wheels, I highly recommend looking at a Genesis. It’s one sexy, sexy car. πŸ–€ http://bit.ly/GenesisChristine #genesispartner

My sweet @thecordialhouse, captured by @bradymccloskey just a few weeks ago...before #stormgate (πŸ‘†πŸ»highlights). If you follow on stories, you saw that on Thursday night, as I was on my way to a party, that big window looking out onto that very pretty view, got completely blown in. The storm was a big one and had really, really strong winds and well, those windows are original to the cottage so over 40 years old. And...though they look pretty, the years have been hard on them...as in the large one that came in was barely nailed. That wall has tons of water stains and now we know why...because the window wasn’t sealed properly...like at all. So, long story short, old original window + big storm = no more window.πŸ‘ŽπŸ»
.
I was of course super upset but also so grateful that for one, a very sweet neighbour just happened to be walking by that night and saw my front windows blowing open, and then got in touch with us. I mean it’s a miracle really because not that many people live near us year round and that he was out during the storm and so kind as to let us know what had happened...amazing. Also how lucky that no one was there...I mean if I had been in that house alone in the dark when it blew in...or worse a renter...no no beuno. And then lastly, so so thankful that my contractor @island_innovation was willing to drive out in the storm to board everything up before more damage could happen...in the dark...without any power. I mean he didn’t install the window(s) so it really was pretty fantastical that he went right away in such shit conditions to help. He’s now working on making sure the damage gets fixed so that our little house will be as good as new...maybe even better:)πŸ‘ŠπŸ»
.
We’re looking at different options, including switching the window out for either paneless glass (like the one beside,) or giant patio doors (dream would be something Iike @marvinwindowscanada β€˜Modern' line.) I’ve been looking for some inspiration and def have a few ideas for how we can bring the outside even more in. So...yes, the storm and damage sucked but clearly we needed to address the windows and now that the hand has been forced, it’s time for some more design/reno fun:) Stay tuned!✌🏻

Featuring one of my most favourite photographers, @maudearsenault, on this week’s #sundayartstroll. .
Maude’s work explores the female body and themes of β€˜eroticism, nudity, and beauty’. Her portraits feel so incredibly sensual and though gritty and real, also speak to fantasy and daydream. .
I am the lucky owner one of her beautiful works, called β€˜That Morning’ and count so many other pieces as ones I’d love to own...including this beauty called β€˜a Girl and a Boy.’ Some other favourites from Maude’s portfolio are up on stories and highlights.πŸ‘†πŸ»πŸ–€

It’s not Thursday but giant love to @citizenatelier for posting the foyer in my old house. As it ALWAYS does, artwork is what made that little space come to life. If you’re in the market for a beautiful something something...and hello, what else could be a more perfect Christmas gift for that special someone...check out CA’s beautifully curated collection. πŸŽ€
