So I swim now... #meanmuggin 
First real swim workout as I get into this whole triathlon thing.  I switched between 50s and 100s, while working on different breathing techniques.  Between the 50s I did 1:00 min rest, and between the 100s I did 2:00.  I've got my work cut out for me to get to 1.2 miles continuously, but this is a start.  Also need to work on my swim selfie game... πŸŠπŸš΄πŸƒ#swimming #survivetheswim

Late post - 30 min. easy spin last night for a bit of recovery.  My legs were feeling it from Sundays 10 mile run.  Tonight, rest.  Both kids had flag football, and I'm beat from a crazy day at work. πŸ€ͺ And bonus, I got my very first blister from running on Sunday!! What?!? πŸ€”  Getting my first pool workout in after work tomorrow for my return to triathlon! 🏊 #restday #longday #pooltime

Summer is holding on for a couple more days.  I'm always on the fence this time of year, as I feel like I didn't get enough summer, but also look forward to more comfortable temps for running. Gooseberry Falls State Park.  The starting point of the @superiortrailraces 100 miler.  This past weekend I had the privilege of crewing my buddy Keith on his second attempt.  This is considered one of the most challenging 100 milers due to the rugged terrain, and 42,000 ft. of elevation change (up and down combined) over the course.  This year we got him to 77.9 miles, the Cramer Rd. aid station, but missed the time cutoff.  Progress over last year, and a great effort even though the result wasn't as planned.  The second pic is at Crosby-Manitou around 4:00 a.m. Saturday.  The good news?  We're already planning for next year. He needs to finish. πŸ™ŒπŸ» #superior100 #crewing

I'm taking a few rest days this week, as I'm packing and getting things in order to crew a long time friend at the @superiortrailraces 100 miler this weekend.  It's going to be a great adventure, and I can't wait to pace for a couple of sections, too.  #runningfriends #sunset #nofilter

Tonight I ran to the sunset.  A gorgeous 8 miles, and the longest I've run in over a month.  Tomorrow I'll get some quality time with my bike on the indoor trainer, since it's supposed to storm all day.  #longrundone #sunset

The best thing to do after a stressful day at work is to crush things.  Like a 5 mile run.  Also, the best thing to do when a small bug smacks you in the back of the throat when you inhale, is hold your breath and swallow.  #protein  No one wants to see you hacking and yacking trying to get the bug out of your mouth... #runnerproblems

Sometimes we have to look where we've been to learn where we want to go.  I used to do hours and hours on the indoor trainer, before I had any idea I wanted to run a marathon.  A couple weeks ago, I pushed off on the start of addressing my triathlon weakness, the swim.  I'm looking ahead to how all three will fit together for me.  Tonight, 60 min. of spinning on the tri bike.  The sit bones and shoulders are going to have to get used to this if I'm riding 56 mi. next June.  It's alive... #im703wi #triathlete

Slowly building back some mileage.  Five on my own in this gorgeous evening, and the elder child joined me for a lap around the block again.  Proud of him for wanting to do a second lap on his own and getting a full mile in.  He's motivated to run a 5k with some of his best buddies sometime. 😊 #runningfamily #findthejoy

The Buck Island Swim.  6:00 a.m.  0.6 mi.  Open water.  We were delayed a few minutes this morning due to thick fog, but got it in.  My first time, and a great way to kick off my transition to triathlon. 🏊 #openwaterswim #triathlontraining

Did I mention I love being by the water?  Three miles and change this evening on the Shore Path of Lake Geneva.  It was amazing and a little strange running on the path, which winds through the back yards of all the gorgeous lake homes.  A pretty great run, though, despite crazy humidity.  This distance is for you @ultrarunner.lisa 😜 #lakelife #dreambig #vacationrunning
