Athens Georgia Human Rights Festival was always a great event to pick up some great local artwork.I remember this day as if it were yesterday. Probably not significant to anyone else but it’s honestly where I caught the fever. This small painting by Susan Hall was donated to the auction during her MFA in 1988. I had a Sugar Magnolia Burrito from Mean Bean across from the stage as I eyeballed the bidding. It was a great lineup of music, spoken word and overall personal freedom. College paper thin wallet surviving on fumes and never had more than a couple quarters in my pocket. I bid on this gem...and won my first original piece of art...worth every penny.
artwork is necessary for your soul...it continues to live, breath, evolve and provides inspiration. Attached to each of these personal items are memories...which are always fresh no matter how long ago.
