This is our first weekend off in I don’t remember how long. We’ve spent a good amount of time hanging out, staring out at the water and enjoying these creatures that make life joyful!
What was your weekend highlight?
I’ll call this my therapy arrangement. Being alone in the studio today with flowers is what I needed. Sometimes this work can feel lonely...other times, like today, it can be so therapeutic. Ok, so I may have made it a little too big for Moms table but whether you’re 5 or 50 something, your Mom always thinks your work should be on display 😂
I feel SO VERY fortunate to work with such incredible vendors AND couples in some of the most stunning venues!
This incredible photo was taken by @dandewaard last weekend at the wedding we flowered at Rosario Resort. Great couple...great team, beautiful backdrop!

I won’t lie...I’m not sad to see July go. Don’t get me wrong...I love summer...especially here in the Pacific Northwest where the days are long and the fun activities abundant. July was the busiest month ever for Camas. And although I’m proud of what we accomplished, I’m not proud that I allowed my tank to get so low personally. I know this about myself. I can be a perfectionist and a people pleaser and work until things are just so. I think it’s a good combo for a wedding florist but this month pushed my limits. In the midst of wedding season, we moved, we readied our old house to be sold, took on a remodel, had contractors living in our house and tried to make time for family, friends and dogs. August looks better and I’m reminding myself to breathe, that it’s not just ok to take time for myself...it’s essential. So tonight I enjoyed the golden light with the love of my life, walked the dogs, picked blackberries and slowed down. Tomorrow I’ll be back in the studio but my tank will be a little more full.
What do you do to fill your tank?
Friday’s couple wanted to showcase their love of the islands, beach-combing, growing their own food and having fresh flowers that were casual yet welcoming. They wanted their guests to “feel” not only the love they share with each other but for this beautiful archipelago we call home. Thanks S & R for trusting us to get creative and let nature drive the design. And thanks to @lollie_fleur and @emmielu32 for helping to bring the design to life.
