16of2019 1.16.2019 We've Got Worms As we homeschool we have to come up with some creative ways to bring a lesson to life. So when ecosystems came up we have such an incredible example of it in our own backyard (JTNP), but out of respect of the shut down we had to bring it down to scale so opted for a huge Bell Jar full of worms and lovely compost. We will probably have another week of watching these critters before we put them in our garden where we will continue to watch. So stay tuned while the kids learn about the circle of life and our Blue Jay's get a yummy dinner. 🐛🐦 🤷🏻♀️ (no worm or blue bird emojis, but you get it)

15of2019 1.15.2019 Foggy Day in the Basin Since moving up to the high desert foggy days have been my favorite. There really is nothing like feeling like you're in the clouds and the weird temperature that surrounds you, you're not exactly cold but there is a drop. On this day we went to the Morongo Preserve area for a science project (check the next One A Day for the project 😉), we were surprised to see deer while we were there grazing in the safety of the fog (swipe for the 2nd photo).
14of2019 1.14.2019 My First Collage I created this digital collage as a cop out for my not getting anything for the 14th, and obviously I'm a bit late posting. I like how it came out, since it was a very intentional creation with runes in the background, me in the clouds and wings to just fly away. I have my reasons why I have fallen behind on this daily challenge, but I'm not letting it get in the way of creating something. This collage may be a little weird in the mix of my photography, but hey this is my art space and I hope you see it as that.
13of2019 1.13.2019 My Friend's Rad Shop on Wheels I love being part of such a creative community and this lady I'm proud to call a friend is such a force! I got a chance to check out her new trailer at Sunday's @mojaveflea Even got a beautiful capture of her in front of the trailer for @jt_gem_co & @mojavecloth Robin rocks it in knowledge of gems and stones, keeps her hands blue dying beautiful and soft cashmere and kills it as a graphic designer. She's an inspiration! 🖤
"I love the rain. I love how it softens the outlines of things. The world becomes softly blurred, and I feel like I melt right into it." -Hanamoto Hagumi Jan2019 Hwy 62 (Sequence 1/3)
"She's in the clouds, heavy and dark, waiting to fall like rain." -Christy Ann Martine Jan2019 Hwy 62 (Sequence 2/3)
"The richness of the rain made me feel safe and protected; I have always considered the rain to be healing -a blanket of comfort in a world of storms." -Unknown Jan2019 Hwy 62 (Sequence 3/3)
12of2019 1.12.2019 My Charlie's Had to snap of photo of these two to round off this little sequence of the loves of my life. These two are twins, with Baby girl having her momma's sass... yea she's already trouble. "But I'm the only Charlie, not daddy."
11of2019 1.11.2019 My Son's Piano Lesson I love listening to him play, and so proud to see that he's grown with it in such a short time. Grateful for an amazing instructor, thank you Joseph.

9of2019 1.9.2019 In My Front Yard There are days where getting outside to the front yard is a feat in itself. Where thoughts weigh too heavy to do much more than just what you need to do to get through it. It was a heavy day, but at least I got this shot of the setting sun kissing this Joshua Tree goodbye. #mentalhealth
8of2019 1.8.2019 My Coffee I have a bad habit in the form of this delicious concoction of roasted bean juice, sweet cream creamer (Coconut milk), more milk (soy), a sprinkle of cinnamon and turmeric. I love it! Its yummy and a bit of my life source in the AM. The turmeric is essential though! I used to suffer from really bad sciatic pain, and after two weeks of regularly adding turmeric to my coffee I started feeling relief. Now a year and a half later I haven't had any sciatic issues. Also, this is my favorite mug and aesthetically reminds me of a lumberjack, ha ha.
