Mini Cinnamon Cactus that I’m attempting to grow into a tree like form. I have only had it for 2 years so it has a long way to go, but it grew like crazy in the greenhouse this summer! I have a lot of choices for how I can shape it. The pads pull off very easily and root very easily (just wear gloves!!)🌵🌳
I love this time of day when the sunlight and grow lights creates interesting shadows and colors. This time of year is extremely busy at work, so I am usually watering and checking my plants late at night with a flashlight. Because of that, I cherish the sunny Sunday afternoons when I can really see everything thriving🌿🌱
For those of you that don’t know, I print custom Christmas ornaments for work, so you can imagine how this time of year gets super busy. A week or two longer of the chaos and things will settle down. Until then here’s my new/first aloe!👽
Care to guess how many ‘pots’ (not plants) are in the grow room?🙃 (HINT: there are more than 150.) Lovely pink grow lights on a snowy afternoon this past weekend. “How do you keep track of all those plants?!” To be honest I don’t know.. but I love them all unconditionally! Someday I will have a better space to display each one, but until then, their health is all that matters. Happy Tuesday!
Here’s one of my grafted San Pedro doing something weird.. it started pushing out pups soon after the graft took so I tried cutting it out. Apparently I didn’t cut deep enough because it never stopped pushing this little guy out. Although my faith is low, my hopes are high for a monstrous branch popping out! I have heard mechanical damage can induce this, anyone ever experience this before?
Caring for plants is a constant learning experience, just as life is. My first sago palm wasn’t feeling his best and I wasn’t sure why. So I pulled him out and checked out the roots (completely fine) but in the process I saw it was potted in 100% peat😩 no wonder the fungus gnats we’re loving it so much. I knew I should’ve repotted him right after I got him, but you LIVE and LEARN. Everyone needs a little help along the way, be the one to give some extra help today!!
It is physically impossible to get a good picture of the plants in the plant room (second bedroom😅). Here is part of one shelf that receives the most light (in a very awkward picture). Fun fact: our townhouse has no south or east facing windows🙃🖼
