#tbt to earlier this week as my lovely wife, @kjerszy23 & I celebrated our second anniversary together. It’s been a wild ride these first two years but I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side on this journey. I love you Kim & here’s to at many more anniversaries & adventures together! #happyanniversary#love#partnersincrime#bestfriends
Well, yesterday’s #usapl didn’t quite go as planned for me yesterday. The meet was well run, ran smoothly & judging was tough all day. Shout out to the spotters, judges & volunteers for a great meet!
In short, went 4/9, missing all 3 of my #benchpress attempts along with my 3rd attempts on my #squat & #deadlift . 🔹
All I can do is learn from this & continue improving my strength & technique. On to the next one! Big thanks to my wife & parents for coming out & cheering me on all day! You rock!

Great start to the week here in Cali... ▪️Inspirational quote at my hotel ▪️Caught up on work with some nitro cold brew coffee by channeling my inner @jordan_barbellmedicine ▪️Didn’t die squatting after a week of hiking up at Glacier National Park. Somehow managed to hit firstname.lastname@example.org (1st vid is of 425, forgot to record 435), 405x4@9, then 3 sets of 375x4. ▪️After working with Barbell Medicine for the past 2.5 years I was finally able to train along side @leah_barbellmedicine and pick her brain on all things training, programming, etc. The content the Barbell Medicine is putting out lately has been phenomenal & only expect it to get better. If you’re in need of coaching, programming, nutrition, etc I’d check them out. They are the best in the biz IMO. ▪️Crushed some serious Poke bowls afterwards.
Day 4 = Prepare for the unexpected or as my Mom once said “hope for the best but prepare for the worst.” Weather in @glaciernps can often be sporadic & unpredictable so it’s important to prepare for those moments #justincase the worst happens. 🔹
Today’s hike up Grinnell Glacier Trail was a perfect example of that. Sunny & high 50s to start the hike; half way - overcast skies, low 50s; Trail end - dark skies, temperature plunged to high 30s & we were hit with snow & sleet which eventually turned to rain for the remainder of our hike.
Many folks along the trail had no water, no waterproof gear, cold weather gear, etc. which really makes you question their life choices. Don’t be one of those people that gets caught unprepared then the rangers & first responders have to come & save your dumbass for not taking the hike seriously. #rantover 🔹
Grinnell Glacier Trail
▪️Distance - 11.4 miles
▪️Elevation gain - Approx 2000ft (high point 5,500 ft)
▪️Hiking time - 5.5-6 hrs
Wildlife sightings included grizzly & black bears, mule deer, friendly chipmunks & a big ass moose that we apparently missed earlier in the day. 🔹
Solid first day in @glaciernps despite the forest fires still keeping part of the park near Lake McDonald closed for safety reasons. You can see the fires in a couple of the pics from the Lookout.
Apgar Lookout Trail
🔹 Distance - 7.2 miles
🔹 Elevation gain - 1,856 ft (high point 5,236 ft)
🔹 Hiking time - 4 hrs & about 40 min
A little more challenging of a hike than we wanted to do the first day, but what were we gonna do, not hike? Even managed to spot a deer on the trail which was kinda cool.
Very proud of my wife, @kjerszy23, for taking on today head on despite NEVER doing anything like this before.
