To put a smallmouth in the net on a custom one off fly is a blessing. To release him back to fight another day is a gift that keeps on giving. To be outside, on the water fly fishing, and filming these kind of days is remarkable and I am so thankful for the health. Hopefully 2018 will yield a few more opportunities like this!
Making do with the moment, equipment, and surrounding elements to patiently set the hook on the biggest fish of my life! That’s living! That’s fishing! That’s pure fly fishing therapy! •
The tug is the drug when you set the hook on a monster size Carp! Check out our latest fishing video on YouTube! 🎣🎥❤️
Nothing finer than a Brownie launching itself out of the depths! Have a wonderful weekend exploring new waters and may many good memories be made. •
The fish pictured is from the last outing and first visit to the Taylor River. ❤️🎣🇺🇸
Poured the coals on this weekend to find some extra special fish to celebrate one complete year back on the water. With my fly rod in hand I am truly grateful for the steps taken and the distance covered. Just giving you all a sneak peek of one of the many Brownies to hit the net! ❤️🎣🇺🇸
Not sure where the month of May went? So it’s on to June with an upward trend in good health and fly fishing on the brain. With that said keep the fish wet and those ticks off your body! Nobody got time for Lyme Disease!
There is more to Beyond The Fly then meets the eye. The month of May is a tough month as it marks 6 years of battling Lyme Disease. This year is far different as the focus is on new marks, new milestones, and turning new pages. I am so excited that this first mark is just around the corner and one of huge significance! Thanks to fly fishing next month will mark one full year of being outside enjoying Mother Nature once again. It took 28 days in May of last year to walk through any kind of greenery or green overgrowth on hiking trails, paths to the river, or to even mow my own grass. Little by Little and attempt after attempt I was able to overcome that fear of being bitten by a tick that was caring Lyme. Now I run a tight preventative program and tick check after each outing. My soul and recovery is in full swing! Thank you to everyone that has had my back and to all those who support the Beyond The Fly YouTube Channel and IG page. 2018 is going to be epic!
Really needing to get out on the water. This buttery brown is my personal best. Caught em cruising the Rio Grande River a few weeks back. You can see the action unfold on our YOUTUBE Channel! Fish on strong my friends.
