Oh hey, here’s Week 32 of #GoodNaturedSketchbook coming atcha on a Tuesday. Can I be honest with you? Some days (and sometimes weeks) I just really don’t want spend time doing a sketchbook page. And occasionally I put it off and have to catch up. But when it comes time to film a flip through, I find it a bit cathartic. I feel the mood of each page and flip PAST it. That stress from a previous day is in the page and lifted (at least a little) from my mind. Good moods and happy times are captured too, and I get to reminisce. So this week, enjoy my stress and my relaxations, and see if you can tell which is on which page. 😜

Reminiscing via my camera roll and dreaming. If money/time was no object, where would you go on your next travel adventure?? I have many bucket list travel destinations, but on the top of my list right now is Iceland and Costa Rica. 😎
Quick update on portrait commissions: I’ll be sending out a newsletter Monday (okay probably Tuesday if I’m honest) with the next release date/time for pet portraits. I’ll definitely be opening up spots for September and October, but I might go ahead and book November and December, too. Haven’t decided yet. 🤷🏻♀️ But anyway, head to the link in my profile to learn about size and price options, and to join my newsletter if you’re not on it. 😘 Hope you’re weekend is great, friends!
Quick reminder: @gulushthreads and I are heading to Chicago next weekend. We are each teaching one workshop (mine is Painting With Wool, hers is Modern Floral Embroidery) on Saturday Aug 18. You can come to one or get a combo ticket for both and save some money. There are only 3 spots left in my class, which means there are only 3 combo tickets left. Reserve your seat though my website. 💃🏻
Sometimes experiments pay off! (And guess what, sometimes they don’t and that’s totally fine, too.) Really pleased with the way this baby flamingo is coming along. I started this piece as a demonstration for the Birds & Feathers workshop in Italy two weekends ago. I wasn’t sure how I was going to accomplish the neck feather details, but I applied my usual methods of careful layering to a different texture attempt and voila! We have teensy feathers! A little late in the day, but here’s Week 31 of #GoodNaturedSketchbook ! I had less time and energy than I expected for the last two weeks of sketching, hence the small and often quick drawings. Except the church window I painted on Monday—that took way too long. 😂 .

Phew! After 24 hours of being awake on our travel day, my head hit the pillow at home last night and I slept hard. This morning I’m perusing my camera roll and drinking coffee while enjoying special regional biscotti from Prato, Italy gifted to us by the beautiful folks of @dhgshop. This trip to Italy and England felt like a whirlwind, but we managed to squeeze in all we wanted to to/see and more. Aside from teaching workshops, I didn’t spend much time working while away, so if you’re waiting on an email from me, I’ll be knocking those out today.👌🏼 Oh, and I’ll post my next sketchbook flip through later today or tomorrow. For now, enjoy this magical view from @kewgardens.
Saying goodbye to London today and heading home. This has been such a lovely trip, and I’m so happy to have made new fiber art friends. I wonder where felting will take me next? 💜💜 (📸 by @brandon__ives )
