Hi everyone! How are you today? What have you been reading lately?
Although I have been rewatching all of the Great British Bake Off episodes, I have managed to finish two books in the past week. I absolutely loved The Kiss Quotient: it was super sexy and sweet at the same time. Stella is an amazing character and Michael 😩😍😘🤤 (I don’t need to say more). The only thing I hate about TKQ is the YEAR long wait for its sequel,The Bride Test! ☹️😢

The book I just finished (like last night) is Riley Sager’s thriller Final Girls. I love psychological thrillers and this one was pretty good. My favorite parts had to be the switching of the timelines and POV writing styles. That really helped me get into the story. But towards the end, one of the timelines sort of bothered me and took me out of the story. However, overall I stilled liked it and I can’t wait to read his newest book.

Happy Monday, everyone! How has your day been so far?
It is super rainy here in Louisiana: the perfect weather for curling up in my bed and reading the day away. The reading gods must be on my side because my July @bookofthemonth picks came in today!! Perfect timing!!
For July, there were so many amazing books to choose from that I couldn’t just pick one. So I decided to get three:
“The Last Time I Lied” by Riley Sager
“The Girl From Blind River” by Gale Massey
“Spinning Silver” by Naomi Novik
I am so excited for this month’s books!Every month I pick the psychological thrillers/mysteries because they are favorite genre. Then every now and again I pick something random and for July there was something about Spinning Silver’s cover that enticed me. Also that the pitch was essentially “Feminist Game of Thrones”, which I am so here for. I cannot wait to dive into these awesome books!!
If you get @bookofthemonth what did you pick this month? Or if you just picked up any of these, how did you like them?
Hi... Hello... Hey there y’all.
Yeah, I know. It has been a very long time since I have posted on here. I think literally since January. But do not fear, although I have not been posting I have been reading!
I have been reading up a storm since January and it has been amazing. Even with all of my courses, I have been able to read/listen to 16 books in the past 6ish months. Audiobooks have been a lifesaver when I can’t just sit around and read physically and almost all of the ones have listened to have been amazing. (More on that in a later post).
For the past couple of days, I have been working on a little project that I hope will be up and running in a week or so. Hopefully, y’all will be as excited as I am about it when it launches.
I just finished “Simon vs...” and it was awesome!! And currently I am reading “The Kiss Quotient” by Helen Hoang and it is also really good so far. I can’t wait to tell you about it.
What are you reading this weekend? Have you read either of the books I have mentioned?
Have a great day!! #bookstagram#books#yabooks#igreads#currentlyreading#booksofinstagram#bookworm#bookofthemonth#lovesimon#bibliophile#booknerd#botm#fridayreads
Second book finished for 2018!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 out of 5
Bonfire by Krysten Ritter is amazing! I was afraid I would be affected by the hype surrounding this book but it totally lives up to expectations. It is a fast paced thrilling ride about a woman wanting to learn the truth. And it was a little scary how accurately Ritter was able to portray small town life and the secrets in it. I am from a small town and I saw many tropes that resembled my experiences.
It you get the chance definitely pick this up!
I am so sorry I haven’t posted in a long time. Grad school has been kicking my butt and I didn’t get a chance to read (for my enjoyment) until my Christmas break. Thank God for it because I was able to relax, bake and most importantly... Read!!
This year I decided not to make any concrete “resolutions” for the new year. In 2018, I want to not bog myself down with grad school and have it overwhelm my life. I’m still going to do the best I can, but I want to take more time to do some of the things I love, like reading.
I can’t believe I wanted this long to read the Percy Jackson series. I watched the movies years ago and thought they were fine, but now I realize how little they did with this wonderful story and characters.
I love how funny and educational this book: I have always been interested in mythology but I found it daunting to begin the journey. Rick Riordian has given us a world of books that helps make the journey a little easier and I am so excited to begin my quest.
I am so late to the party. •
I know Fall will not officially start until later this week but I wanted to post my "End of Summer" wrap up! 💫
This summer I read:
100 Bullets by Brian Azzarello
Misery by Stephen King
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (audiobook)
Catacomb by Madeleine Roux (audiobook)
My favorite of the summer was definitely "Anna and the French Kiss". It was such a cute and whimsical book and I was just giddy when I read it. I can't wait to read "Isla and The Happily Ever After".
Hey everyone! It has been such a long time since I have posted! School has been a little crazy for the past few months. I now have a handle on it, so hopefully I will have more posts on here soon. 💫
If you have read this far, thank you! 🤗
What was your favorite book of the summer?
In June, I finished reading @jenniferniven "All The Bright Places". Overall, I liked it but it was not perfect. 3.5 out of 5 stars
The link to my full review is in the bio.
Hey y'all! I know it has been a while since I have posted. Things have been pretty crazy at home (not in a bad way, just out of the ordinary). Today is the first day when things seem "normal". I should be posting more frequently in the coming days. Fingers crossed 🤞
How has your summer been? Are you getting out to the beach or on your porch to enjoy the nice warm weather? Or is it too hot to even breathe and you are enjoying the luxury of A/C?
I know this isn't book related, but I wanted to share some beautiful sunflowers 🌻 and PURPLE cauliflower I found this morning at the farmers market. Absolutely beautiful!
I love visiting local farmers markets with my family during the summer. There are about a half a dozen really close to my home, so my mom, grandma and I hit 3 or 4 in one trip.
What is your favorite produce/homemade good to pick up at the farmers market? #farmersmarket#sunflower
I have recently become obsessed with The Maze Runner film series. Like super obsessed.
Unfortunately I haven't read the books, so I'm working on that now. I had to download the audiobook after watching #scorchtrials so I would have something to hold me over until February.
Has anyone read/watched The Maze Runner series? How did you like them?
