And finally, here’s the third of THREE new StreetWORKS murals we will be installing across the city.
Location: Corner Donald and Blackston Streets, Footscray
Install: 31 May-2 June
Responding to the theme of gender equity this design aims to represent members of the community in a way that is inspiring and empowering. In the design, women are seen as construction workers, chefs, high level business people and scientists, while men are seen as carers, nurses and dancers. This creates a scene which inverts the dominant roles, and shines a light on those working in non-traditional roles in the community. The people in the design are represented in the same pose and at the same scale to emphasise that there is no dominating figure.

You're next Kingsville! We’re thrilled to announce the SECOND of three new StreetWORKS murals we will be installing across the city.
Location: 186 Somerville Rd, Kingsville – formally Kingsville post office
Install: 26-29 May - this weekend!
This design uses floral themed wallpaper from the era of Kingsville’s housing stock and pays homage to the city’s history and beauty. The design works in flowers from a Rembrandt painting that have been adjusted and contrasted to represent the wallpaper. The work also ties in nicely to the shop front being a florist.

Arts & Culture Maribyrnong is thrilled to announce the first of THREE new StreetWORKS murals we will be installing across the city, replacing existing murals that have aged and need new works installed in order to prevent further graffiti and tagging.
Location: Food Works Seddon
Install: First week in June
This design has an active focus on both the historical and current elements of the local community. Seddon’s cultural diversity is celebrated through the inclusion of animals native to the population’s primary regions of origin and Victorian ‘workers cottages’ and Edwardian terrace houses present an architectural feature of the design that is connected to the area. The work also features a 1950s tram – akin to those which originally ran down the main streets of Gamon, Victoria, and Charles, detailing the suburb name ‘Belgravia’ along the side of the tram, referencing Seddon’s roots – having been originally named Belgravia.
