"All this happened, more or less". This morning I managed to get to Slaughterhouse Five, the former underground meat packing cellar where Kurt Vonnegut was kept as a prisoner during WWII. In this place Vonnegut survived the bombing of Dresden, which is nice because otherwise he wouldn't have written one my favourite books. Today what became the setting for Billy Pilgrim's story no longer functions as a slaughterhouse; the building has been converted into a pretty anonymous convention center. Being this whole area private property I had to join a tour in order to get in. I was the only participant of the tour.
