Dad’s thriving orchids. 💐
The world seems new after last night’s intense rainstorm. The smoke from the nearby Weston Pass fire is, at least temporarily, washed from the air. Everything smells fresh and new. Last evening was almost twenty degrees cooler than the night before. We all, pups included, collectively sighed with relief and enjoyed the respite. So grateful. How is your weekend shaping up?
It is unbelievably hot, close to 90°F (32°C) for the last week. That is incredibly warm for our area, our elevation. Even the pups are lethargic.
We've been so worried about fire, always a concern at this time of year. But after a winter with little snowpack in the valley, and this heat, it is especially worrisome. Now there is a fire too, too close. The Fairplay fire, about 30 miles away. My thoughts are with my neighbors and the incredible firefighters who regularly risk their lives for the rest of us. Stay safe out there!! ❤✌
